Red Hook's a local microbrew gone bad. Ballard is the scandihoovian neighborhood of seattle where they started off if you didn't get that already from the slogan. Some years back they moved out to the burbs and signed a distribution deal with the devil, er, I mean Bud.

Yeah, I was in Ballard this summer...my bro lives in Seattle. I'd heard about Red Hook's Devil's Bargain (hmmm, new beer name?) many moons ago. Kind of like Sam Adams same deal. But hey, its America. If you can't beat 'em, buy em.

Living in Colorado for 10 years got me hooked on all those fine Rocky Mountain brews which I, sadly, can't get out here in New England.

My fave:

And also, my bud in Michigan owns/operates this fine establishment.

Any of you midwestern beer lovers (now there's a redundant statement) should check it out. Especially the Crown Brown.

From the land of the "worst beers ever", the beer tasting last night had a chili pepper beer. The beer literally had a chili floating at the top of the bottle. It was among the most foul things I've ever drank. It took all six remaining beer samples to cleanse that one off my palette.

Many people consider it to be the worst beer in the world.

That was it. And I definitely agree on that one, although they said last night that they've featured worse in the tastings, just for the hell of it. I have no idea what could be more foul, but I supposed it's possible if you try hard enough.

OT- My bud put a couple chilis in a fifth of Tequila once for a backpacking trip. Ay caramba! It was pretty damn good, actually!!
