Because it's interesting to know. Of course, just by perusing the NSR portion of BigSoccer, it appears that most people toil away at their non-descript desk job while they derive their greatest pleasure in life from making inane chat about ultimately pointless topics, or arguing vehemently, but not logically, about how David Beckham is bound to play in MLS, with Freddy Adu as his strike partner, protegé, and doppelganger all rolled into one.

But ANYWAY, I guess I should begin this by explaining what I do. I'm a student. Of course I could end there, but that would be way too generic, as it could mean anything from being a reclusive bookworm to a pathetic loser who sits in class grabbing his dick while he looks at the Hustler Magazine hidden behind his copy of Moby Dick.

Actually, I'm the kid who enjoys school, but in the most organic sense possible. I honestly don't care about my grades, as long as they're somewhat respectable, and at least passing (this is a source of great debate with my parents, who are convinced that I'm doomed to flipping burgers, simply because I probably won't be in the top 10% of my class  )

Instead, I loathe the asshats who try to manipulate their way around the system but look good doing it, effectively ruining their educational experience by making a conscious effort to get absolutely nothing out of it. To give an example of how ********ing insane I actually am, I'm starting to plan out my schedule for next year, and this is what I actually WANT to do:

English IV AP
Government/Economics AP
Art History AP
Computer Science AP
Biology II AP (these last two are entirely optional. If I wanted to, I could have two periods off instead).
Newspaper (Editor-in-Chief! Which kind of sucks every now and then! Like this week!)

Anyway, enough of my pretentious rambling. Most other people will probably be much more concise and normal-sounding. In fact, they'll probably just say something like "systems analyst" and we'll all be totally satisfied.

But I figure, since these posts count, I'm going to make them count! :)

I'm retired, living on the family trust, travelling the world with my camera.

You asked what did we want to do for a living...Ooops, I'm selling Real estate to pay for my travels.

My retirement plan is the Washington State Lottery.

Trying to make it as a film producer. I graduated from the University of Texas just over a year ago and moved to L.A. a few months back.

I've got a documentary that I'm producing about a network of soccer non-profits, called "Street Football World". They do some incredible stuff and have over 80 organizations worldwide, in such far-reaching places as Rwanda, Afghanistan, England, Argentina, Brazil, Kenya, U.S., Australia, etc.

They are putting on a "street football" tournament next summer, during the World Cup. It's essentially the World Cup of street football, which will be a very cool thing. Their website has some more information:

Street Football World (http://www.streetfootballworld.org)
Website for next summer's Festival '06 (very cool site, please check it out) (http://www.festival06.org)

Of course, we're still raising funds but we have lots of great people attached to the project. If anyone has questions or more interest in the project (or if you are feeling generous and want to help finance the film!), send me a PM.

Some very interesting occupations people have

Worked for years outside the US for multinationals (Port, Argentina and Brasil). About five years went out on my own, after I got lucky on a dot com job. That has evolved into project financing for renewable energy projects

We just closed on a project here in Hungary for 4 ethanol plants using biomass to provide the power. It's been 18 months of work so we are pretty pleased. We will now work with the engineers to get the plant permitted and build and then roll the same concept out in central Europe. We are also working on some geothermal stuff (generation of electricity) and will likely start playing around with some wind projects as well

I'm an in-house corporate lawyer for Follett Corporation - the company runs about 750 college bookstores and an online textbooksite.

I just finished a masters degree in Real Estate Law at night.

And i have written some children's books - 4 were for Muslim kids on historical topics, but my most recognizable was one for American kids, to explain the holiday of Ramadan. it ended up winning a huge award as Best Kid's Book of the Year, which sadly had no cash reward attached to it. lol. The boook is called "Ramadan" (genius!) and available on Amazon.com.

tip of the day - approx. 75-80% of lawyers wish they had chosen a different career. Remember that the next time someone tells you they wanna be a lawyer.:D

I'm in my final semester of law school, and I'm a bit ambivalent about the whole thing. I'm certainly ready for the daily grind of law school to end, but I'm not too keen on studying for the bar all summer, either.

Holler at me when you start taking your review courses for the Bar. most people go about it all wrong and inefficiently. It's a lot easier than most people think if you study effectively.

I can give you some invaluable tips to get the most out of your studying and make sure you kick some ass.
