I always go to a lot of movies during the summer, which doesn't make much sense, because it is usually beautiful outside. Usually I do this at nights, because Bismarck, ND is just a hopping place.
Iron Man - Best Marvel Movie I have seen.
Indiana Jones - Not great, not bad, just good.
The Strangers - Stupid, not scary.

Yes!
I just finished watching There Will Be Blood.
Good acting, especially from Daniel Day Lewis.
Decent story idea and plot.
Dragged on and on and on and on....take a 30-45 minutes out of this movie and I would have enjoyed it a lot more.

Rented some movies this weekend. Not really any deep, thinkers, just looking for some cheap entertainment. Movies I rented were Jackass 2.5, Shoot'em Up, and Four Brothers.
Jackass 2.5 was a waste of time. It was basically extra footage they cut from Jackass the Movie 2. See, I was in Junior High/High School when Jackass came out and I thought they were hilarious. Now my thinking is that some of the stuff they do is funny, with most of it being disgusting and completely stupid.
Four Brothers was an alright movie. Not good, not bad. It was hard not to laugh at Marky Mark trying to be a badass. The story was pretty good, but it was more or less just another typical action/drama movie.
Now Shoot'em Up was my favorite movie I have rented in a while, and I would recommend it. It's a spoof of all the movies with ridiculous shoot outs and car chases. There isn't much dialogue to speak of, but when Clive Owen's character says something it is usually pretty funny. He is a bitter guy and hates on various things (non-handicapped people parking in handicapped spots, not using your blinkers when driving, spanking your children in public, etc). I guess I liked it because I went in with low expectations but if you want to watch a ridiculous action movie that defies logic, rent it.
One of my favorite scenes

Shoot 'em up was good. Clive Owen is one of my fav actors.

Went to Step Brothers. Stupid funny. Not overly impressed by it.
I have been to Hancock, Wanted, and The Dark Knight this summer.
Hancock and Wanted were good, but I would never pay to see them again on the big screen or to rent them.
The Dark Knight was excellent. I recommend it 100%. Christian Bale was playing third fiddle behind Heath Ledger and Aaron Eckhart. Supporting cast was also very good.

Bump.
I have been to some pretty good/decent movies the last couple of weeks. It has been freezing cold the last month or so.
Casino Royale - Not as good as the first Bond that had Daniel Craig in it. Still pretty cool action and effects, but not as good as I thought it was going to be.
Zach and Miri Make A Porno - Surprisingly a lot funnier than I thought it would be.
Valkyrie - I hate Tom Cruise. But this movie was good. Would have been better if it had been in all subtitles, or at least more subtitles. It just didn't seem realistic.
Defiance - Good movie! Daniel Craig does a good job, but so does his supporting cast. I felt the realism/emotion in this movie, a lot more than I did in Valkyrie. Good mix of subtitles and English.
Taken - Decent movie. Nothing huge to write home about, but Liam Neeson does a good job. He kicks peoples asses and kills people the whole movie. He is a straight up badass! Ending is kind of cheesy.
Of those movies I would recommend that you see them in this order:
1. Defiance
2. Taken
3. Valkyrie
4. Casino Royale
5. Zach and Miri
But a movie that tops all of those. Slumdog Millionaire!!! Great movie! Go see it! Now! Seriously...

Ha, we've seen many of the same ones lately.
Casino Royale - Not as good as the first Bond that had Daniel Craig in it. Still pretty cool action and effects, but not as good as I thought it was going to be.
I'm assuming you meant Quantum of Solace. Like you, I liked Casino Royale a bit better. A big reason for that was that I hadn't seen Casino Royale since I saw it in theaters when it first came out. I didn't realize QoS was literally going to pick up where Casino Royale left off. I had a hard time remembering all the ins and outs of the first one and that made it a bit confusing.
Zach and Miri Make A Porno - Surprisingly a lot funnier than I thought it would be.
A co-worker of mine lent me this a couple of weeks ago. Not something I would have watched otherwise, but it got some laughs out of me.
Haven't seen either of these. Don't care to see Valkyrie, but I do want to see Defiance.
Taken - Decent movie. Nothing huge to write home about, but Liam Neeson does a good job. He kicks peoples asses and kills people the whole movie. He is a straight up badass! Ending is kind of cheesy.
Watched this last weekend. (It was the wife's pick.) I was underwhelmed, but I do agree that if you want to see Liam Neeson as sort of a James Bond/Jason Bourne/John McClane hybrid, this is the movie for you.
But a movie that tops all of those. Slumdog Millionaire!!! Great movie! Go see it! Now! Seriously...
Loved Slumdog. Great colors, great music, great story, and good acting.

I did mean Quantum of Solace, Whoops! :o
See, I liked Taken, because it was exactly what I thought it was going to be, the ending was too cheesy and long for me though.
I can't emphasize enough that if you have Slumdog Millionaire in your town or somewhere close. Go see it, for exactly the reasons you said.
Slumdog has laughs, seriousness, a little social commentary, music, good acting, and just awesomeness all the way around.
I think my favorite scene from it was the train scene with MIA's song. I don't like that song, but that was such a good song for the scene.

I went to The Wrestler this weekend. It was a good movie! Mickey Rourke was excellent. Supporting cast was also good. I also liked the "grittiness" of the various settings of the movie.

When I was in grade school, I grew up watching and idolizing professional wrestlers. It's very surreal to see how many wrestlers have died. When you are younger you don't realize what the wrestlers (and other athletes like professional american football players) put themselves through physically and mentally. It's a good movie, has some good lessons.

True that. Many of my childhood heros are gone. Old school WWF FTW.

Yes. The movie makes you realize how and why what happened to some of the giants in ring could happen.

Rented some movies this weekend.
I rented Righteous Kill. Crime thriller with Al Pacino and Robert De Niro starring as cops, and 50 Cent starring as a drug dealer. I didn't really like the movie, but it wasn't because of Pacino and De Niro. Their performances were actually pretty good.
I also rented Pride and Glory. Police procedural with Colin Farrell, Edward Norton, Jon Voight, and Noah Emmerich. Not a big fan of Colin Farrell, but Edward Norton rocks pretty much every movie he is in! It's a pretty good movie, I liked it a lot better than Righteous Kill.
Finally, I also rented Super High Me. It was kind of a mix between a Mock-umentary and an actual documentary. It was done by Doug Benson, but a bunch of comedians made cameos. Benson is pretty funny. He also takes a look at Marijuana laws, medical marijuana, marijuana dispensaries, effects of marijuana on the human body. I liked it, but it's not for everybody.

I was home in the rain yesterday and caught a re-run of "Sean of the Dead" Amazing how one can find something new to laugh at every time it's on.

Yes indeed.
It's a funny movie. It also reminds you of how good parody movies can be. It seems like that has become a new genre in the USA. And 95% of the movies are fails. They are unfunny. Shaun of the Dead is funny.

Shaun of the Dead is funny.I've only just found out that Simon Pegg, who wrote and starred in it, plays Scotty in the new Star Trek, that should be fun. "Beam me up Simon!"

Bump.
I have gone to The Hangover, Transformers 2, Public Enemies Funny People, The Goods, and now Inglourious Basterds. Liked all of them, loved The Hangover, Public Enemies, and Inglourious Basterds.
If I would rate them top to bottom, this is how it would look...
1. Inglourious Basterds
2. The Hangover
3. Public Enemies
4. Funny People
5. Transformers 2
6. The Goods
I wanted to see Bruno, but I was afraid (chased off going to the movie by friends who are admittedly EXTREMELY homophobic), does anyone have any thoughts on it?

On Bruno, granted while I haven't seen it, it looks stupid and I wouldn't waste the 10 bucks and 2 hours of my life. That type of Ali G movie is probably impossible to replicate. Once you've seen Borat, things just become predictable.
Why put The Goods at #6? I thought it was pretty funny, if stupid. :D

I'm going to see 'The Hurt Locker' today which looks like an amazing film so I'll be recommending that later.
