This is probably going to be a tight game, maybe only one goal in it.

I would go with:

-------Robbo
Stalteri-King-Gardner-Kelly
Lennon-Davids-Carrick-Jenas
------DEFOE!-Keane

Hopefully Davids would be available, it will be interesting to see if Murphy plays instead of Lennon.

One thing is nearly for certian is that we probably won't win since we've never ever beaten Charlton at home in the premiership. Charlton are that team we always strugle against at home ffs.

I want Defoe to start.

btw if we lose this game i want Poshspur to take over as the match thread starter.

Ah i want to win this badley!

we need to get are run going again

good news is that we've only lost 1 home game in a year and in the last 14 months only Chelsea have beaten us at Fortress Lane.

I will take over if we lose.

But I do want to ask you a favour Colm. Please stop being so negative. You see, you are a mod, and if a mod of a team is seen as negative as regards to his teams results, what kind of example do you think you're setting to the rest of the users viewing our board?

Please keep it within and try and be a bit more optimistic.

Will Murphy have clearance to play against Charlton?

Spurs 2-1 Charlton

Just a small point in life a former coach told me about:

"No matter how bad you feel things are, always know that there are a million other souls suffering ten-fold what you are going through".

Spurs 2-1 Charlton

After every (relatively few) bad performances we've had under Jol since he's settled into the job, we've always come back in the next game with a much better performance.

Our home record is formidable and we already beat Charlton 3-2 away when they were in top form.

I expect it to be tricky as there's no Mido, no Dawson (which means Gardner :() and its a doubt that Davids and Tainio willl be fit. Don't expect to see Ghaly either and Murphy is not certain.

However we have enough quality in the team to do them

Defoe and Keane to start I hope.

Last night during the game David Pleat was talking about how King and Gardner do not let in a lot of goals between them...oh boy.

On a lighter note, Keane's goal at the Valley was probally the high point of the year for me thus far as we had an unexepcted comeback. Infact, once it was 2-0 I left and went to watch my sisters Cross Country race just to take my mind off of how bad it was. Then I came back to a suprise. And Lennon was superb that game.

2-0 Yiddos.

We have to win this. We HAVE to.

Apart from v Chelski, the next 2 months should see us picking up a lot of points. I think Jol will play Defoe and Keane and, if he does, we need to change the way we play - ie not hoofing it up from defence/Robbo. Use Jenas and Lennon to get behind them and also look for chipped balls for Defoe and Keane.

Not particularly confident about Gardner and Kelly, who are no match for Dawson and Lee. But we are going to have to start scoring sooner or later. Besides, Charlton just sold us their best player! Although I'm not sure he is allowed to play against them.

Positive vibes people...

I have no doubt it will be Defoe and Keane upfront, the biggest question would be whether Rasiak is on the bench.

The Lee we have seen is not the Lee that PSV had, Kelly replacing him doesn't worry me, he seems to play better at home anyway. But not having Dawson available is a blow.

I guarantee the supporters will remember what Darren 'what's the score' Bent done at The Valley.

I think we will win, 2-1.

No Murphy for this one. Link. (http://www.premierleague.com/fapl.rac?command=setSelectedId&nextPage=enNewsLatest&id=1141274&type=com.fapl.website.news.NewsItem&categoryCode=NewsLatestFAPremierLeagueNews&breadcrumb=latestfa_breadcrumb)

Jol confirmed Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy agreed to Charlton’s request not to play the midfielder on Sunday but believes Murphy is just the player the side needs after the sale of Michael Brown to Fulham and Wayne Routledge’s loan move to Portsmouth. He said: “Charlton didn't want him to play so our chairman gave his word."

It just has to be Keane and Defoe up front. Any chance of Rasiak turning things around is long gone at this point.

Who gives a shit about them? My foot hurts.

I was hoping he'd play to replace tainio (I assume our little finnish maestro is injured), its a hard game we're trying to do the opposite of what they usually do this time of the year (charlton's annual crumble.) I really hope we can pick up a win here but it'll be less then easy.

...watch a much more positive XI, I think a winning run is long over due and this is a good time to start the speculation is over, the moves are made and its like a new start.....players should know that MJ does not want deadwood and negative attitudes. Playing for 4th spot or better should be enough if results improve....our competition has slipped at the same time as ourselves.

If I had my choice I'd have Huddlestone and King at the back. And if Davids is fit him on the left, and start Carrick and Murphy if available in the middle. Jenas on the right, with Lennon on the bench. Murphy's 2nd most assists should be used as soon as possible. Keane and Defoe should be pretty happy, with the through balls galore to run onto. :D

It depends on who is available and fit.

----------------------------Robinson------------------------

-----Stalteri----------King--------Gardner---------Young-Pyo---

-----Jenas------------Huddlestone----Carrick------Lennon-----

----------------------Defoe-----------Keane------------------

Thats if Tainio and Davids are still out

-----------------------------Robinson------------------------

------Stalteri---------King----------Gardner-------Young-Pyo---

------Jenas-----------Carrick-------Tainio---------Davids------

-----------------------Keane-------Defoe---------------------

Thats if Tainio and Davids are both back

We need Mido back badley :(

I'd put Huddlestone in place of Gardner in option B, but I have a feeling Jol wouldn't want him as a back when he's been playing as a midfielder all season.

Ok, this is my team. If any of the players I have selected are not available, I am sure someone will put me right.

PS. Jenas has been stunning in the last two games.

Cheers Newcastle and above all, thanx for selling us one of the best up-and-coming England midfielders for only £6 million.

Davids probably won't be back and Dawson is suspended for this game?
