How about all the posers who hang out in front of CBGBs? We should punch a bunch of them on our way from Nevada Smiths to Katz next month.
Yeah I hate those assholes who wear the CBGB t-shirts also.. Seriously people need to get a life...
Watch United beat up on the Arse- $10 cover charge
Pints of Beer at Nevada's- $50
Beating the piss out of a bunch of posers on our way to eat corned beef and pastrami at Katz's - Priceless

U2 are good, but sometimes a bit musically pedestrian for my liking
Isn't that blaspemy in your country.... I was under the impression that Bono was God in Ireland...

With regards to that whole Clash/Beatles argument... Led Zeppelin > the world. Pink Floyd > Led Zeppelin.
Must Spread Rep...

According to Bono, he gets his arse continually kissed in America. In Ireland, he walks down the street and its always, "hey Bono, that last U2 album was shite!"

If you took the songs from the last two U2 albums, shuffled them together and then played them, I wouldn't know which ones were from which album, other than the singles. It seems like U2 likes to work in threes:
Boy, October, War
The Unforgettable Fire, The Joshua Tree, Rattle and Hum
Achtung Baby, Zooropa, Pop
All That You Can't Leave Behind, How to Dismantle An Atomic Bomb, ?
Their next album will be more of the same as the last two, and will have a reallyy long title.

That's pretty true, to an extent - over here we don't really take much seriously. You can get a snapshot of that on the Ireland NSR forum, which is really just the posters that live here taking the mick out of everything, and the Irish-Americans getting confused. I used to go to school with Adam Clayton's next-door neighbour too, btw (and yes, that 'spon collection' thing in the Simpsons is true).

Personally, I think ...Atomic Bomb is just a smidge darker and has a bit more edge (pun intended) thanks to Steve Lillywhite than All That..., but I agree with you mostly. Hopefully they'll change it up a bit for the next album, but not go too far off the deep end. They definitely keep it in threes.

A pint is a pint, my friend. 1 US pint = 16 US fluid ounces

edit: I figured it was the smaller ones since its in the US but figured I'd ask anyway.

Imperial pint is 20 oz.
Pints should always be 20 oz. My pub offers the imperial. That's why it's my pub. :) That's also why I like to drink so much. It's a viscious cycle, one I embrace wholeheartedly!

All That You Can't Leave Behind, How to Dismantle An Atomic Bomb, ?Hadn't thought of it this way before. I really prefer their second incarnation.

Well, he listed the albums in order actually.
I'd say if you have nothing from them, start with the two "Best Of" Compilations, 1980-1990, and 1990-2000. Each also comes in a two-disc version that includes b-sides from their single releases, but you probably don't care about those right now. The single disc versions are just fine... or y'know, if you get them from "alternate" sources. ;)

Those are albums, and most of them are pretty good. I've always preferred their older stuff.
