I love Talib Kweli as well as Common. Mos Def is okay, he doesn't really do to much for me.

If you say 50 and Em are garbage, well, then you don't really know talent. Cause they make good music, Lil Wayne too.
Em isn't garbage but anyhting that has to do with 50 is garbage so by the reflexive property he's garbage. Like his old ish anyways.

Talib Kwali and Common are good writers of lines. Jay-Z as well, although sometimes he loses his sense of rhyming for the sake of a story.
I used to love Common, but now I can't stand to listen to him I dunno why.
Is it because he's in GAP commercials. "Peace, love, gap" LMAO

Finally my hometown has famous (atleast according to MySpace music) rap artist Jon Young. Give him a listen. Also peep a group called Treal Orange County. They're pretty good but intense.

Common is the sh*T. His early stuff was great, he went a bit bonkers while dating Erykah Badu and made the album Electric Circus, which was weird. However, he dropped that nutter and got back to his roots, and the last album, BE, with Kanye has to be one of my favorite hip hop albums ever.
EDIT: And fu*k everyone who thinks that doing a commercial, endorsement, etc. somehow cheapens one's music or makes them a sellout. WTF man, if you can make a buck just doing what you do, then what the f**k is wrong with that?
