I wouldn't say he's a musical genius, he's just very creative and goodat what he does..
I'll kindly disagree.
But the Scientology part must attribute to his crazyness. A rational human being doesn't believe in that trash.
You could say the same thing about a Christian, Muslim, Jew, Buddhist, or Scouse supporter. It all depends on your perspective.

If Beck is a musical genius then what is Steve Vai? Exactly.
And all those are just as nutty as Scientology, but if you break them down, the latter is just a bit more outrageous.

I'm not even vaguely familiar with that name.
Christians think the Earth has only been around for a few thousand years, even though it's been around for millions. They also think the world is going to end any day now and that Jesus is going to come back and save the good people. These are just a few examples of some of the craziness that goes into one's own personal convictions. People criticize Scientology because it hasn't been around for a long amount of time and doesn't have hundreds of millions of followers. If someone tried to sell the stuff in the Bible to people now, they would be a laughing-stock and South Park would be making fun of them within a month.

Most Christians have no problem with evolution. And while a Christian, by definition, believes in the divinity of Christ, many (possibly a majority) Christians do not view all of the Bible in a literal historically accurate sense.
L. Ron Hubbard on the other hand was on record as saying that the best way for a man to become rich was to invent a religion.....which he did. You can make the comparison to early corruption in the Roman church but it would be hard to argue that such "worldly" concerns were a founding tenet of Christianity as opposed to a perversion of it.

Scientology was based on a bet between two science fiction authors. E-meter, Silent Birth, breastfeeding isn't allowed, tone levels, thetans, space operas, and Xenu and his Galactic Confederacy. Just as whacked out, if not more but I can see why it's so attractive, I for one love Star Wars.

Meh, the Church has amassed large amounts of wealth throughout it's history taking advantage of poor people. To this day, people make money perverting the words of the Bible and speaking in Jesus' name. As a person of no faith, I really don't discern between a religion made to make money and a religion that many of it's "followers" use to make money. That's just me though.

Hey, like I said, she writes her own music. Despite the fact that she has a shite voice and has no skill as a musician, ITS OK, SHE WRITES HER OWN SONGS. Ignore that her songwriting sucks chode, just that she does it is enough to make her rich and famous.

Going back a few posts, only Jews and Christians who take the Bible (or Pentatuch) literally believe that the Earth is only around 5,700 years old. Now amoung those people, there are some who believe that the first six days were not the same as what we recognize as a day. Some have even gone further and, using the Theory of Relativity, reconciled 15 billion years with 5,700 years.

Scientology purports to be built on scientific principles. However, the scientific support for Scientology is dubious.

Yea well, I write my own music too. And I can safely say my songs are better than hers.
