View Full Version : What do we expect from this board?

Since Huss has just created this, I felt a thread of this nature would be appropriate. Rather than flooding the board with a large variety of videos, surely we should have some kind of system to make things easier for each other? For example...

1. A sticky request thread.
If people continued to make requests then they would bump videos further down the board. That problem could be solved by having a sticky request thread to keep things in the one place.

2. Clear and concise thread titles and descriptions.
We have all seen the 'cool video' or 'awesome goal' type threads before and they don't help anyone. A least make it clear what your video contains and give us a brief description of it (even if it is a what happens next type comment).

3. Discuss the videos!
Who wants a thread full of one liners and thanks? Let's at least discuss what the videos are about. That's what a message board is for.

4. Don't use a host that will delete the file.
There is no point in using 'yousendit' or the like, because with the amount of traffic BS gets the file will disappear quickly. At least use something like 'rapidshare' so everyone can enjoy the video for months to come.

5. Follow Huss' rules!
We want this board to last and be a success, surely?

Any thoughts? :)

For me, the best sites to host videos are www.youtube.com and www.putfile.com...

Is this only for player videos or can we post supporter videos also?

I would assume both, so fire on ahead.

"Copyright violations are a severe violation of the TOS."

Well this forum isn't going to work. Any video posted will be a copyright violation unless the person who posts it was actually there to film the event themselves... and since I highly doubt we have any cameramen from Euro Sport or Fox Soccer Channel here on BigSoccer, no one is going to post anything here.

at any rate, I will ask. Where can I find the South American preliminary games on DVD? This would be one of my dreams to come true:)

Just make sure you have a back-up in RS, so if the YSI link is down then people can still get the file and re-up the file to YSI if required.

I love the idea of a forum for soccer videos. I would assume this isn’t only for sharing videos via the ‘net but also to trade DVD’s/video tapes?

I will soon have video tapes I’d like to get rid of in which I’d only request payment for postage and maybe $1 for the tape itself…not looking to make a scandalous amount of profit…would that be fine?

If the idea of this forum is to rip vids from your tv and upload them, then this forum will not be allowed.

If the idea is to link to sites that have feeds/clips etc than this forum will be allowed.

Retlated topics (where to buy DVDs) etc are obv. welcome.

Just use this site www.linkomedia.com (http://www.linkomedia.com) to submit any youtube or any other video hosting site link that allows embedding, and then post a link here.

There are six videos to a page.
eg: http://www.linkomedia.com/sport.php?select=chelsea
