If we can have past Liverpool players then what about Kevin Keegan, Ray Clemence, Peter Beardsley, Phil Neal, Alan Kennedy, Phil Thompson, Steve McMahon, Tommy Smith, Steve Heighway and Jimmy Case. Not all of these would be better than the ones you've listed, but Warnock and Jones? And David "Oops" James!

Options:
Ferdinand in for Campbell if playing well.
Beckham out, Gerrard moved to the right and Carrick/King/Parker in centre.
If chasing game - J Cole out for 3rd striker and Rooney drops to advanced left wing.

You know, you have to sit back and look at it, but feck that's a strong team.
A stronger goalkeeper and a better right back and they're strong strong contenders for the World Cup. They're good anyway, but those are weaknesses, IMHO.
Anyway, I might have Lampard pushing up just behind Owen, as I think Lampard's ability to score goals could be useful.

Who needs a DM in the WC finals? You need a DM to help you to qualify for the WC and once you are there it’s a freaking exhibition so you just need all your pace and skill . . .

I know Brown is a good defender and all but he's behind Terry, Campbell, King, Caragher in the pecking order and you're placing him in front of terry?
and Bridge? someone who hasn't played that much football in the lasy year.
To be fair i like Richardson.

Good shout on Parker though - our foreign git should have played the young lad in more games, keep him involved and had a word in his ear that he would eventually have replaced him.
One of the biggest mistakes Chelsea will have made, looking back in a few years, is letting him leave.
He's playing well, and fully deserbes a call up in a position that we are clearly screaming out for to be filled by somebody that can actually get the job done.

I'll agree with Brown, but the WC is a few months away yet, lets see how young Bridge makes out for the remainder of the season.
He's still a talented player, and whilst he'll probably not replace Cole in the starting 11, if he puts in good performances before seasons end, he should at least make the 'squad'.

Carrick is better than Parker, Carrick is a better passer, better on the ball, has more vision.
Carrick has helped us to 4th place this season. where Parker is in a Newcastle team in the bottom half of the league.

Providing Brown remains fit then he will go to the WC. I would personally pair him with Rio because they clearly complement each other well and the experience of them playing together each week will be invaluable. In terms of the Cole versus Bridge debate, I have always favoured the latter because he is equally adept at both attacking and defending (and doesn't have an ego). Fair enough, Cole has improved recently but it will all depend on how he returns from injury. I prefer Parker to Carrick because he is a better at tackling and has a tenacity about him. England's midfield also doesn't need yet another cog to muddle things in midfield. I think Carrick would do that.

In the England CB reckoning Brown is also behind Woodgate, Southgate, Upson, Riggot, etc, etc.
Brown is a clown :)
I'd rather play Glen Johnson at CB

even if he stays fit, wes brown is currently about as likely to make it into england's starting XI as you are.
he MAY get into the squad, but only if there are two or three injuries to other players.

I'm not arguing the point of whether or not carrick is better.
But, since you have brought it up, I'll go along.
No, Carrick is not a better passer of the ball and his vision is on a par with with Parker at best, certainly nothing I have seen from him this season would have me say he's better.

You're on something real good if you think Brown will replace anybody at center back.
