I hear ya, I'm pretty fed up with pretentious cinema, which is why I avoid art house indies like the plague.
As for The Descent, well you know I can go on and on about it, and since I've been introduced to it, I introduced it to eleven people within the past two weeks, two of them already saw it and were stunned. I plan on promoting it even more, I'm gonna shove copies of it to my film professors and fellow students, yes I'm that enthusiastic about it.
p.s. if we ever do meet up, I owe you a drink or something.

I hate scary movies. I appreciate them, but I can't watch them. Yes...I'll say it before any one else does. I'm a **********.

and for those who haven't seen it, here, enjoy...it'll be funnier to those who've actually seen The Shining.

Have I posted the films re-enacted by bunnies here before? It bears repeating:

The strangest thing happened today. One of the guys at work (he a little brokeback hisself, if you know what I sayin') told me he watched Brokeback this past weekend as well. He said it was awful. He said it was boring and that the guys never looked like they were having fun. I think he wanted more sex scenes and maybe a little more skin. I think he missed the point.
Incidentally, this guy looks just like this...

I just saw Walk The Line last night and I must say I was very, very impressed with it. It was an excellent movie, one of the better ones I've seen for sure. The acting is superb. Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon were the perfect choices for the film. What's even more impressive is that they both sang every single song that's heard in the movie. I recommend it to any one regardless of what genre of music you listen to.

Reese Witherspoon has great range...she can play dumb blonde AND dumb brunette.
:D I tell ya' I get no respect, no respect at all..

Heads up: Turner Classic Movies is showing the classic movie Freaks tonight, at 11:15 pm EST. Interesting because it was made in 1932 and there is NO WAY this movie would ever be made now, as it's deeply exploitative of its actors. It's about performers in a circus sideshow. It's very dark and an interesting insight into 1930s culture. A pseudo-horror film, well, maybe -- you be the judge. :) I think it's mandatory for horror film junkies, regardless of how you label it.

Saw X3. Overhyped and not as good as it should have been, but still... it was entertaining.
I liked the ending. :D
Still for my money M3 was the best movie of the year thus far.

Ellen Page:

I actually like girls with high foreheads, but that amount of cranial space.. is quite frightening. And X-3 is pretty ************. Watchable, but you come away with nothing at all.
