Just saw Good Night, And Good Luck. I thought it was excellent.

I saw V for Vendetta last night. It was a really good movie. I thought Natalie Portman was really good in it too. :)
I was utterly disappointed in this movie... long, drawn out and seemingly pointless.

That movie didn't work for me. For some reason I didn't find it compelling.
I did, however, see "Mysterious Skin" the other day. I thought that was excellent.

Dude, this is the first movie where I literaly had to pause it to catch my breath. It won't be released til August this year in the States, so I took it upon myself to order the movie from amazon.com.uk.
What a great effin build up, what great effin horror imagery, and I could go on and on about this one.

Saw M:I 3 yesterday. Decent movie overall, very predictable plot and great graphics. So if you liked the first 2 installments, you'll enjoy this one too.

I think Demi Moore was hotter in that movie than Kelly McGillis in Top Gun.
Is this Jack Nicholson's best performance? (On second thought, no, it's gotta be The Shining).

What are you saying ? The Joker was definitely his best performance. :D

in that movie she was a-sexual to me... which is weird because at 12 or 13 or whatever I wanted to marry her after Striptease :D

One Flew Over... was Jack's zenith, imo. Then again, he has a host of performances that can argue that... Chinatown (in particular), A Few Good Men, Batman (as bestbecks said... and yes, it's true), The Shining and As Good As It Gets.

I agree with Billy, The Shining and As Good as it gets, with the former being my favorite. I mean, you can act out so many of his behaviors and say lines from this film and never get tired.

Have you seen the 'Salisbury Hill' recut trailer of The Shining, btw?

yep, it's absolutely brilliant, I was actually planning to do the same for other trailers, once I learn how to properly use the technology that is.
and for those who haven't seen it, here, enjoy...it'll be funnier to those who've actually seen The Shining.

Well then here is something else thatr might give you a chuckle (I don't know why, but I thought it was gas). I was looking for a definition of mise-en-scene, just to fully remind myself about what it is, since it is quite important for an exam I have tomorrow, and in the process stumbled across this picture:

I don't get it. I mean I know the definition of mise-en-scene, but I'm missing the punchline here. :o

Just found it hilarious because I really can't stand pretentious cinema. :p
BTW, I seriously urge everybody to look at these two trailers for The Descent (who at this point, should be paying me :D).
Watch this one first: http://youtube.com/watch?v=uyK7GmLBFrE&search=the%20descent
Then this one: http://youtube.com/watch?v=XDgRiJF-9aE&search=the%20descent
And remember - lights off & volume UP! (edit: put it on maximum screen size, too) :)
