Got a list of movies I'm going to try and catch over spring break including, but not limited to some Oscar winners and some assorted travel-related films.

feel free to run it by me and Billy, we'll tell you which to see and which to throw out. ;)

Feel free to run the list by everybody, as Billy and SirManc are not, necessarily, the only movie experts on this board.

Edited to match other rating system:

Roman Holiday - must see
Walk the Line - see
Crash - must see
Syriana - must see
The Spanish Apartment - skip
Before Sunrise - see
Chocolat - must skip (see note)
Four Weddings and a Funeral - see
Amelie! - must see
Talented Mr. Ripley - see
Punch-Drunk Love - must see
About a boy - see
Dirty Pretty Things - see

Note that the rating for "Chocolat" is for the Juliette Binoche movie, not the Claire Denis movie, which I have not seen. "Chocolat" and "L'augberge espagnole" are the only two that I've seen that I would say are not worth the time.

I second the positive responses to Before Sunrise, The Talented Mr. Ripley, and About A Boy. Three of the more underrated movies on your list, IMO.

Amelie... I liked it, though not as much as a lot of other people.

So far, "The Talented Mr. Ripley" is at the top of the list. Also, no negatives about "Roman Holiday", "Syriana" and "Before Sunrise".

Hmm.. got to visit the blockbuster when I get back home on Friday and see what they have out of this. Keep the thoughts coming though.

I watched The Spanish Appartment en francais so i guess I watched "Auberge Espagnol" but it was mal. Je n'aime pas et je pense that the story sucks. C'est bon pour un film francaise mais its not worth watching for ammusment.

Yeah, it was a decent flick, but nothing to write home about. And then you had portions of the movie in English and Spanish, and the subplots all seemed contrived. It showed up for me on Netflix as a recommendation because Audrey Tautou had a cameo in it.

Audrey was excellent in "He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not". Has anyone else seen that?

I just got done watching "Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle". Aside from one rather funny scene, the movie was crap.

Maybe that's one of those situational movies that Asians and Indians tend to get more. For us, its pretty damn hilarious the whole way through.

Man, I loved Harold & Kumar to be honest. Not only hilarious on several levels, but a pretty good movie on a 'popcorn' level, kind of like Old School.
