I saw WTC last night and at 1st when I heard the movie was being done, I thought it was way to early but after seeing united 93 and see how it was done in the right way. I thought I would take a chance and see WTC and I have to say it was a very good movie and done tastefully, I won’t lie there was times when I was about to shed a tear or two. Oliver stone did a very good job in making the movie.

I'm sure it was done well and as a movie I'm sure it was good...

My problem is I don't want to relive that horrible day again... and I think that using that event for entertainment and profit is in poor taste.. He is exploiting the deaths of thousands to make money and I just find that to be despicable...

Did you see "Munich" or "Schindler's List"?

Totally different if you ask me..

Munich was almost completely about the squad put together to kill those Palestinian ********************s..

Schindlers list was less about the Holocaust then it was about Oscar Schindlers actions.

For me, I'm not interested in seeing a movie about 9/11 simply because its still too raw. However, I don't have a problem with anyone who uses art to try make sense of it.

This just occurred to me: Do our friends across the pond refer to the awful day as 11/9?

And I'd agree with you if he did it for free..

They probably just refer to it as September 11th. In France they refer to it as the day America got what was coming to it...

But can there be art without commerce?

But still, they would call it 11 September, or l'onze septembre.

Indie Films...;)

Good point. In Italiano it would be il undici Settembre

Don't kid youself, those guys would love to make money from their work.

For me, artists can make art from whatever subject they choose. I show my support, or lack thereof, with my wallet.

Another thought: Jayro's idea of the worst possible movie

Stars Jim Carrey and Rene Zellweger
The two leads play sympathetic Palestinian "freedom fighters"
There is no female nudity
There is considerable male nudity, including numerous "pickle shots"
All broadcasts of United games include commercials for the film

I don't know that movie has alot of potential..

Let's say:

Rooney, Gabby, and Vidic in IDF uniforms kill Zellweger an Carrey
The pickle shots are actually of a lesbian couple wearing strap ons
The commercials are broadcast during our victory over Chelsea where Terry and Lampard are crippled for life and we win the EPL

Then you've got a movie I can get in to.

Do it, as long as you can avoid any spoilers.

has anyone seen goal the dream begins? I wanted to see this movie but it never came out in theaters where I live. Also when is goal 2 coming out I heard Real Madrid take part in that movie.

See how much nicer that looks.

I haven't seen the movie entirely. But it's a Hollywood film, and it's by the modern day integrity-less Oliver Stone. He's pretty much doing what every other 9/11 related film or documentary so far has done. It's trying to emphasize the heorism, the unity coming out of the event, instead of actually showing what it really was, a terrible tragedy that changed America's foreign policy and altered our culture extensively.

It's always the same cycle when dealing with serious events. At some point in the future there will be deeply cynical movies about the failures that led to the event and the sorrow that galvanized a nation and allowed it to think that less civil liberty was a good idea. A lot of people are not even ready for a reverential movie about 9/11, much less one with varying viewpoints. Imagine a "Syrianna"-like approach? Mass protests.

spot on.

And I can imagine anybody who would take a Syriana-like approach with 9/11 will ultimately be deemed unpatriotic.

Or if it sucked like "JFK", speaking of Oliver Stone.
