Clerks was good, Clerks II sucks, Rosario Dawson is overrated and V for Vendetta was vomit-inducing. Thank you.

I saw two movies this weekend...Syriana and Hostel. Syriana was o.k. and Hostel was pretty good.

You got it the other way around.

V for Vendetta was ok. No vomit from my mouth that evening. ;)

Read the graphic novel, and then try to understand how Hollywood producing has seriously ********ed up this story. No wonder the author refused to be credited with it.

I remember hearing that the author does that for all his comic books that get picked up for movies. I didn't read the comic, simply saw the film from an objective viewpoint and enjoyed it. I could give a flying ******** that the author is pissed about the changes they made to it. Ill be buying it when it comes out on tuesday.
Maybe ill buy two just to spite sirmanc. :D

hostel was awful though. syriana, very good.

So you're the one going around Africa with that thing eh? You should be ashamed of yourself.

And as far as the V for Vendetta is concerned, the graphic novel is a genuine masterpiece, and like every other piece of art, it should have either stayed the format it was in or it should have been done more justice, but the reality is it wasn't, what you and everyone else saw was maybe 5% of the genius Alan Moore came up with. But fair enough, at least you made Joel Silver happy, because he had people exactly like you in mind when he decided to produce this filth.

well this is how every thread turns into a sirmanc vs [insert name] argument that takes up pages that should be used to offer our prayers to the Fletcher.
It be nice if you could disagree with someone for a change without being a complete ass. but whatever, im going to go whore myself out to hollywood tonight, so have a grand evening.

Something that is totally suprising...

Miami Vice sucks cock.

I went to the dentist last week, and the hour i spent there was more enjoyable then the two hours i spent watching this film. too bad my insurance didn't pay for the movie too.

SirManc, if you ever see this movie, i think your eyes might melt.

Next time fellas, consult me, and I'll save some of your time. Now The Descent is coming out soon. That one you should definitely see, you won't be disappointed.

I wasn't hyped at first, but I keep hearing that reference to 'Alien' and it's got me all stoked. Went out and rented The Cave and The Cavern to see what they had to offer. Nothing like Alien of course. The Cave was decent, but it got more action-movie silly as it went along. Don't bother with Cavern.

I can't believe Descent has been out for a year! WTF? How often is the US the last country (behind Finland) to get a wide release??

I don't understand why you even bothered to rent The Cave, and The Cavern, the settings are about the only thing they have in common with The Descent. In any event, I watched the latter earlier this year and only just found out it is due to be released here early August. It's also been getting a lot of tv spots on more popular networks like mtv but as is the case with all American tv spots and trailers, they give away way too much of the story and they ruin the movie experiences. I saw it not knowing one thing about it and it was much more effective than what I'm seeing here on tv about it. Anyway, I can't wait to hear reactions from people here.

All I know from the (very brief) TV spots is some girls decide to go spelunking and find something that doesn't like them, which is pretty much what the Cave is. Plus I too like to know as little as possible about a movie before I see it.

I like it, one of the more interesting films of the last six years. It has already achieved quite the cult following and ten or so years from now it will be a cult classic.
