I can't stand the heartache and am changing my screen name to ChavsRcool.
Being concerned about the team is one thing, but 200 threads on who sucks, who is leaving, and "we're doomed" is tiring. Like you said JP, I try not to encourage them.
why do you think I stick mostly to the OT phorum? so many people get more phocked out than Gregg Phocker....its terrible.

My insurance rates... again!
And probably my cholesterol after last week. Spent the week in Vienna, Georgia, doing a training workshop for the state. That's VIenna with the long I. This rural, south Georgia town is known for 2 things: Cotton and the state's official BBQ contest for entry in Memphis in May. Other than that it's barren, flat and reliant on the local McDonalds/Truck Plaza for insight on what's happening in civilization.
We were conducting a workshop for the county as it begins it's long term plannng process. Suffice to say, we had numerous ideal slogans to offer as vision statements:
"This town needs an enema!"
"Come for the pecans. Stay while we change your tire."
"Still safely 57 miles removed from Alabama."
"Like Dothan, only smaller!"
Yep, it was good to come home. :D

So what'd I miss around here, apart from Super Bowl chatter?

oui...but I'm of the mindset it could just be a suprise....whatever the #499 post person decides....although I believe JP might throw a hissyphit if he didn't have creative input....;)

dan and I returned from OTRT pt. deux. rick likes to, even having plenty of time to get ready, wait until the last minute to catch a train so we have to run after 4 hours sleep still drunk. that is phun. :)

Welcome back! I forgot that it has been so long since I chimed in. Sorry the boys weren't perfect for you, but at least you've been to Highbury now. A far better place than my journey! :p

By finishing the year 8-8 the Falcons failed AGAIN to have back to back winning seasons, something the franchise has never done. That's pretty damn sad, and a pro sports record for futility!
I'm not sure I'd trade places with the Lions, though. :p

This is on Wikipedia about the Lions championships:
"Detroit enjoyed its greatest success in the 1950s. Led by quarterback Bobby Layne, they won the league championship in 1952, 1953, and 1957."
And thats it.
The other important fact on Wikipedia that says it all:
"Also during the mid 1960s, William Clay Ford, Sr. purchased a controlling interest in the team."
What they don't say is "This would turn out to be the most barren ownership of any professional sports team in the world history of sport."

Check out this quote (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/basketball/nba/02/06/bc.bkn.timberwolves.suns.ap/index.html) from Steve Nash last night after the Suns got "Hawked".
"I feel like the Seattle Seahawks," said Steve Nash, referring to what the Seahawks felt were bad calls by officials in Sunday's Super Bowl. "It's remarkable. There's like five games this year where we've not gotten a call in the last 30 seconds. After awhile, you realize you don't get those games back, and it's tough to take."
Hiliarious.
