WWIII is about to begin. Thanks alot Israel/Hezbollah.
as soon as Lebanon/Hizbelloh hands over those two soliders, it should simmer down. Hizbellah has a bunch of rockets that can go abour 25 miles. that's the extent of their capabilities.
The real issue is what Syria and Iran will do eventually. Iraq is int he exact middle geographically and that causes all kinds of situations

Israel and Hezbollah are both equally at fault here, let's just get that straight. Hezbollah for being dumb enough to set Israel off in the first place, Israel for pushing its attacks into the heart of the country where the Lebanese government has nothing to do with Hezbollah, the southern border with Israel is basically a lawless, vigilante area, and the weak Lebanese government can do nothing about that. Israel should have just held Hezbollah at the border, ramped up security at the border, and cut it off there. Now they've gone and made themselves the aggressor. Bad strategic move, awful PR move.

I don't think the PR has been hurt really. Most Western countries have simply condemed Hez for that stuff.
Also, Hez has their foot all in the Lebanese government. How are the Lebanese at least not partially responcible for controlling the members of their parliament?

No they don't, Hezbollah is equivalent to our Green party, but since Lebanon has a proportional parliamentary system, that means that they are given seats. They have absolutely no real power within the state though, that's an absolute fact. Hezbollah the political party and Hezbollah the vigilante terror organization are also two separate entities that were formed from the same basis, but act completely independently of each other.

This is true. Well the Hez with their blind missle attacks are leading their home country to be leveled by the might of the Jewish military right now.

And I did acknowledge that in my initial post, that it was moronic of them to provoke Israel in the first place. This all just smacks of a Hamas-Hezbollah alliance to me, one where they are both simultaneously attacking Israel and forcing them to split their attention, kind of like a two-front war. Except it hasn't really worked, the Lebanese front is really more like a welcome mat. Israel could overthrow the Lebanese government in the next half hour if they really wanted to.

Yep your right how dare those Israeli soldiers get kidnapped by a bunch of Jew hating Arabs who's whole purpose in life is to destroy the state of Israel. Then how dare the Israeli army go and try to get their guys back.
What people fail to realize is that Hezbolah basically controls Lebanon and they are funded by the Syrian govenment. None of these scumbags are acting alone they are all funded by the various governments in the region with one goal in mind kill Israeli's.
But you just sit there safe and sound in California while people half a world away are attacked while eating dinner for being Jewish. Then quote the Anti Semitic right wing media and blame the Jew for eating his meal in an area where Arabs happen to be passing by...

You'd think they would know better than that. Not small organization is going to be a bull headed government such as Israel. Israel should go ahead and annex Southern Lebanon then wipe the terrorists out. I wonder why when concessions are given to Palis such as Gaza, etc. they are still not happy. I have a feeling if Israel completely stopped attacking anyone in the area, the 'freedom fighters' would still continue to try and kill people and die for the cause.

Now you're starting to get it... Israel withdraws troops and forces the settlers out of Palkestinian territories and what happens the scumbag ********************s attack Israeli's.
No matter what Israel does they will be attacked for merely trying to exist.. So if 1 Israeli soldier is kidnapped they will unleash hell to get him back because he is being kidnapped by a group funded by Lebanon/Iran/Syria etc.....

Jayro does make me wonder why the Lebanese government just sits back and lets their shit get blown to hell. Either they are afraid and should just kick the ********ers out of the country (Hez) or they are hoping Hez will do damage indirectly for them.

What are they going to do... Israel could take over the whole region in 45 minutes with barely any Israeli casualties and Lebanon knows this... Not to mention the Lebanese/Syrians are pointing out to the world that these crazy Jews are attacking our sovereign nations unprovoked in hopes of getting the Anti Semitic organization known as the UN to sanction Israel..

What ever happened to Syria and the USA being in leagues to torture alleged terrorists?
Also, I don't understand where the UN is anti-Semitic. Hell, two of the P5 are the ones that put the Jews down there anyway.

How does attacking the Lebanese capital for no reason work in rescuing their kidnapped soldiers? Good grief. They absolutely have a right to rescue their soldiers, but then the limit of their Lebanese incursions should be into the Hezbollah-controlled South.
What you fail to realize is that Hezbollah has absolutely no power in the framework of the Lebanese government. I am a Syrian, I'm minoring in Arab politics, Syrian-Lebanese relations is my specialty. Syria has minimal influence, mainly monetary, in Lebanon now. Hezbollah's money does mainly come from Syria, although a sizable portion is funneled from Iran. They absolutely do hate Israel and want to destroy it, no question about it. Nobody in their right mind denies any of that.
That third paragraph is so out of hand, I'm not going to bother. You have the gist of it right, but state it in far too extreme a manner.

Not afraid, they just don't match up militarily. Any defense they try to put up is a suicide mission. So, that second theory of hoping Hez will do the necessary damage holds water. It irks the Lebanese government like no other to rely on Hezbollah to do their dirty work though, nobody in the circles of power there has any love for Hezbollah because Hez undercuts the Lebanese governments power within its own state.

Attacking the Lebanese capital and the blockade of the ports is the most effective way of blocking goods and supplies to the Hezbollah Guerillas.
What you fail to realize is that Hezbollah has absolutely no power in the framework of the Lebanese government.
And Hamas has no power in the Palestinian government..
