You all hit on the points that Dubya doesn't realize. You can NOT enforce Democracy on people who don't want it. It is an internal change, not something that must come from the outside.
Of course they'd prefer it to Saddam though, that's not a question. A democracy in the Middle East would have to be incredibly libertarian because the people absolutely do not want the government intruding on their lives and honestly, give them a decent code of law and security and they'll ask nothing more of the government.

No for blocking of streets in Washington, protesting in the House in the Capital, making a stink of Bush not talking to her for the 10th time, and for Dishonoring her son who believed in what he was fighting for. She is dis regarding what he thought and I wouldnt want my parents doing what she is doing if I had died in Iraq. She took off her jacket at the State of the Union Speech and she was wearing a t-shirt which said "2000+ dead, how many more" -- that's why she was actually arrested.
Also, I know many vets continue to support the war effort. Many former and current vets do not, however. In fact, I know that several ex-servicemen Iraq vets are planning on running for congress in 2006, and all of them (to my knowledge) are running as democrats and opposing the war. I think vets do fall on all parts of the political spectrum -- maybe not those you know personally, but those in public life certainly do.

Your right, I mean I love for people to be free to do stuff like this (BS)but still it is not our place, we should be concerned with our own problem (which are numerious) surely, we all can agree on that.

Don't use that sarcastic tone, be a little more mature here, I'm trying to be as clear as possible, and I don't intend to repeat myself.
I said Cheney makes most of the decisions behind closed doors, but its up to Bush to finalize them. get it? good.
Don't give me that sh!t and justify Bush's behavior infront of the world, you said its his gimmick over here, but it doesnt make sense to make himself look like a jackass infront of other world leaders, how is the rest of the world going to take him and thsi country seriously? especially when war is at stake, terrorism, flu outbreaks, etc...and he ********in jokes about it, and answers everything indirectly
so according to your logic, Bush is a political genius because he's able to convince millions of uneducated people..yet he makes idiotic and indifferent political decisions which don't benefit those very people he's playing nor anyone else for that mattter...yet you back him up. Gotcha.
I'm curious in what your news sources are by the way.
So Bush is like every other President ever: he takes advice from others and makes the final decision. Why did you state that Cheney makes most of the decisions to begin with if you knew that Bush makes the decisions?
He plays his role in front of the cameras. When the cameras aren't there, as in when he is actually meeting with the leaders of the world, the man becomes what he actually is: very intelligent and crafty.
"Uneducated people" are the majority in this country. He has to get the votes of a majority so his party can dominate the political landscape, which they do. Once in office, he makes decisions to benefit himself and others like him, aka rich people. This is what every President and every politician does. I don't know why you are continuing this debate.
Ummmm, have you read my screen name? Do you know who Howard Zinn is? I'd like to know where you got the information that I back Bush. I understand what the man is doing and why, and I don't just go flying off the handle with left-wing, crazy bs, so I guess that means I support Bush.
My news sources are the Washington Post, the New York Times, and the Boston Globe.
Honestly, I have respect for you and what you are saying SM, and I apologize if I come off as sarcastic or what not. I don't want this to turn into anything disrespectful, but I am also not going to back down from my points.

Have you ever heard of Vietnam? This is the same thing, one difference. We won this war, we could never win Nam and thusly we would never be able to look 'reasonably' favorable on that time in our history.

Motter: I'll lay off Cindy Sheehan, and I have no problem with her protests if there legeal I just think she is disrespectful.
Editing for Vietnam (last time i swear)
Yeah, that was a much bigger mess, and we wont pull out of Iraq
Editing for Sapph- I think war vets are very important on the political spectrum. Eisenhower was my favorite president.
Lastly, I have said my piece, Im not trying to make enemy's here and politics is certainly one way to do so. Everyone knows what I think here, and I Dont feel the need so stress the point again and again. I respect all of your opinions, and respect everyone here no matter there political ideals. I'll get back to what we do best here, Man United talk, Girls, Food, and Jack Bauer. :D

One thing that I cannot understand is your view that Bush is actually a "smart", an "crafty" guy, hell some people here have even called him a genius.
You claims off camera he acts like himself, but whenever he's in camera or anywhere in public he puts on his "stupid" gimmick, This doesn't make any sense especially when he goes overseas. You still haven't addressed that.
If the rest of the world is so disillusioned with the U.S., why in the blue hell would he enforce this gimmick there? infront of people where his lameass gimmick won't work, and infront of other intelligent world leaders who don't treat their politics as some kind of game.

It's simple, really.
It gives creedence to the belief that Bush is actually evil, and the "stupid act" is just a shrewd way of covering it up.

I just don't buy it as a gimmick, I think he's genuinly stupid, and the rest of the world would agree with me. No one other than Americans here are actually buying his crap, and I suppose giving everyone the impression that he's stupid while doing nothing intelligent with his politics makes sense too.

I don't know, look at the great things Forest Gump achieved, and he was stupid.

I just don't buy it as a gimmick, I think he's genuinly stupidI've mentioned this before, but the only reason I disagree with you is that I've seen the documentary "Journeys with George". You should really watch it, since you believe he's not intelligent. I can't "prove" it, or give you other evidence; I just can't imagine you walking away from that film thinking Bush is a complete idiot.

I'm sure he's educated and trained in some political aspect, I don't disagree with that, however he's ignorant and he doesn't know how to use his knowledge like a president should. I mean, if he's so smart, why are his politics so full of sh!T and reeking or moral decay and stupidity?
