We really need to sell him. People like that don't deserve to play for the reds...god what is it about us? First Collymore, now Cisse...

I am NOT defending assualting his wife. . in fact i worked at a battered women's shelter so this is not something i take lightly. .
However, i just wanted to point out that most people dont understand that ASSAULT does not mean BATTERY. Battery involves physical contact, whereas ASSAULT involves putting someone in fear of harm.
So, for example, spitting or hitting someone is battery.
And waving a gun or flincing as if you're gonna hit someone, even though you don't, is assault.
Just wanted to claify, that if he'd hit his wife, he woulda been charged with Battery.

This is the second time he has been 'cautioned' for assault in the last few months.
Anyone know what it generally means in the UK when one is just cautioned? Does that usually mean that they didn't really do anything, or are violence laws very laxed there?

It means he admits to the offence and is fined (happens when the crime is deemed not serious enought to warrant a trial), It also means that he now has a criminal record. Had he dclined the offer of a caution, it is likely that he could/would have been liable to stand trial.

I do think it is time for him to go. Sell him to a French team (like Lyon) so him and Houllier can be reunited and he can score 4 goals a season or what ever he does a season

This shouldn't be the reason he is booted out of Anfield, it should be because he sucks.

In all honesty as a blue i would say you need to sell him asap, hes bring your clubs name down in the gutters, just to even think of hitting a pregnant women is shocking and for me i would sell him on the spot, also hes rubbish, very poor finisher and never looks up. Hey wait on second thought send him across the park lol j/k.
Second point tho is what do you fans think of Morientes, personally i think hes overated and plays more like an old man but in my eyes he plays cos Benitez bought him so has a biasis towards him even tho he does nothing to help the team.

agree with ghazi. we don;t know what happened exactly.
I'm not defending his actons, but nor will I condemn him because I can't know what happened.
if it was serious, I am sure that proper action would be taken by the government or LFC

This story cannot be true. Everybody knows Cisse couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat.

As far as I'm concerned, this falls square into the category of "it's none of my damn business".
I'm certainly not condoning what allegedly took place, but if he's got problems, it's up to him to work them out (privately - he doesn't need help from you, or me, or the media, or anyone else).
Rep for Lanky, though.

Remember, assault doesnt mean hitting. . only creating the fear of hitting, so technically its par for the course.
Ok. . no more jokes. .

It may well be none of our business. However, as a fan of Liverpool Football Club, I don't want anyone who is privileged enough to don the famous red shirt to sully it with such abhorrent behaviour.
He disrespects the club and all that it stands for. How can anyone cheer for someone who has done this to his wife?
I can't and I think he needs to be let go. It's disgraceful.
