is cisse the new diouf?
no, diouf can control a ball, if not his temper.

cisse needs to go. he just gets the ball and runs into nowhere, its amazing to watch. the frogs muct be clueless yano, because he scored that many goals over there, and i doubt he did it with anymore style then he tries now.

how can you push cisse aside like that?
he is a consistant scorer with les blues and has a better minutes-to-goals ratio than the rest of our strikeforce.

IMO he has never been given a real run, and there seems to be an irrational hatred of him.

Why do you want a red to fail?

That's not fair to Cisse, he was brilliant with Auxerre, french defending is really no worse than english defending.

Like ppl said before, this is common, and again, this is assault, not batery.

"frogs" aye?

Had to dig this thread up because despite the obvious anti-France sentiment on this post and amoung quite a few Liverpool and English media types in general, I'll bet a few of them are eating their words since Cissé is playing well despite the odds being stacked against him.

I hope he scores against England in the WC. That would make me smile :D

Cisse has easily been the most confounding player this year - yeah, he's scored goals (the FA Cup one was special), but if you've watched enough games then you have seen him squander way too many opportunities. When he can use his speed in open space, he can be devastating.

What really struck me was watching Fowler - how he creates space for himself in the box, reads the play and makes the dummy runs, and the little passes to setup team-mates for chances...all the things Cisse does not do.

Cisse would seem to have a place in the squad, but I don't see him being effective against the better sides in the Prem, simply because they mark better and he lacks the nuance in his game.

You didn't know he has only started one game all year at CF and he is blazing fast!! He's sure to score 55 for us next year!!!

Why do I want a Red to Fail?

Because he's not really part of the team. All he cares about is himself and furthering his own career. If he was truly Liverpool, he would realize that he is truly shite and be thankful for the minutes he gets. During these minutes, he would work his ass off instead of jut waiting for the ball to come near him.

please just send him to France. You're wasting his talent. If Wenger weren't French Thierry Henry would have probably been tossed out of Arsenal in his first year.

Geesh!

Stop it with the anti-French nonsense, already. Do you really think Liverpool doesn't want him because of his nationality?

I watched a replay of Liverpool v. Chelsea in the FA cup quarterfinal on FSC tonight. Part of the reason we struggled so badly in the last 20 minutes of this game was because we were virtually playing with no strikers. We would clear the ball and Cisse wouldn't be there to pressure or hold the ball up which invited pressure on us. Its stuff like this that really make me upset because its one of the most fundamental jobs of a striker. Anticipate where the ball will go and be there to help retain possession.

I think the comparisons between Cisse and Henry stop after the fact they are both French. I really hope Cisse scores goals in the world cup so that we can offload him for a hefty sum.

Liverpool paid £14 million for a "proven" goal-scorer. We are entitled to feel a bit cheated, and justifiably complain, when he fails to get right even the basics of centre-forward play. And the analogy with Henry is frankly risible.

except that you probably don't remember how he was a failure at Juventus and pretty shaky his first year at Arsenal. Of course now with hindsight its obvious that he would become a legend but it was only after Wenger decided to play him in a striker role did he really start to shine.

Are you really comparing Djibril Cisse to Thierry Henry?
