We should start thinking of chants (both original and unoriginal) to sing against our opponents.
Over on the DC United thread they already have an Anti-Houston chant thread going.
"Come and Take It
Come and Take It
Come and Take It"
Repeat until You are tired of it
"Your Sister is your Mother
Your Uncle is your Brother
You're all F**kin each other
The DC family
da da da da..... Baa Baa"
Adams Family Tune
"Stand up if you hate DC
stand up if you hate DC
stand up if you hate DC
stand up if you hate DC"
Dont know the tune but I have heard it at both Birmingham City and Aston Villa games
(repeat till ur bored)
"Shall we score,
shall we score,
shall we score a goal for you,
shall we score a goal for you"
Heard it when I went to a match when Villa were hammering QPR

I came up with this one the other day. Tell me what you think.
Eighteen Thirty-six,,
We won our liberty,
Came for a fight
But there was none to be
Two-thousand six, [changes each season]
Same for my team,
Wanted an opponent,
But there was none to be
I think a few bars from Texas Our Texas would also be appropriate
"Texas, Our Texas"
http://www.lsjunction.com/song.htm
Texas, Our Texas! all hail the mighty State!
Texas, Our Texas! so wonderful so great!
Boldest and grandest, withstanding ev'ry test
O Empire wide and glorious, you stand supremely blest.
God bless you Texas! And keep you brave and strong,
That you may grow in power and worth, throughout the ages long.
God bless you Texas! And keep you brave and strong,
That you may grow in power and worth, throughout the ages long.
Texas, O Texas! your freeborn single star,
Sends out its radiance to nations near and far,
Emblem of Freedom! it set our hearts aglow,
With thoughts of San Jacinto and glorious Alamo.
God bless you Texas! And keep you brave and strong,
That you may grow in power and worth, throughout the ages long.
God bless you Texas! And keep you brave and strong,
That you may grow in power and worth, throughout the ages long.
Texas, dear Texas! from tyrant grip now free,
Shines forth in splendor, your star of destiny!
Mother of heroes, we come your children true,
Proclaiming our allegiance, our faith, our love for you.
God bless you Texas! And keep you brave and strong,
That you may grow in power and worth, throughout the ages long.
God bless you Texas! And keep you brave and strong,
That you may grow in power and worth, throughout the ages long.

If the first one is original, then you're a genius. Even if it isn't, I like it. The second is good as well but if we're going to steal songs from England...why from Villa? ;)

besides chants have you begun making something like 400 orange blue and black flags to be waving when the team enters the field for the first time?
I want to see a whole section of that stadium bathed with waving orange paraphanalia and you have so much stuff to work with being the name and colors. I would suggest starting work soon!!

Whatever you chant, please don't continue on with the same chants all the other groups use over and over and over again.

And a note of self-moderation: we might want to have a few chants that news agencies will feel comfortable airing. I like the "One-Eight-Three-Six" one by DrL. above, but all I can envision - at best - is a news broadcast with the last word mysteriously cut... ;)
Unfortunately, I'm the last person on Earth to "invent" a chant, much less sing one... therefore:
Open question: How do you come up with your chants? So far, I've seen ideas like, "Go see so-and-so's supporters' group web site, and go from there," but I am truly at a loss at this point. What do you do next?

I wrote this up, to be sung to "Yellow Rose Of Texas"
There's a brand new team in Texas, that I am gonna see
Houston Eighteen Thirty-Six!, and that's just fine with me
We'll sing our song together, until you know their name
And while we sing our song for all to hear, we'll win the game!
What do you guys think?

This is very good. And don't worry about the kids in your support section.
Stuff like this just sends them into giggle-fits.

Is this the one that goes 18-36 clap clap clapclapclap?
Cause if not, I call dibs on this one! :D Even if it *is* the same one, I call dibs, because I added the claps. Claps are key here people.
And thus is the extent of my creative genius.

For two sections to yell out with each other:
1: You say 18, I say 36.
2: 18!
1: 36!
2: 18!
1: 36!

Really like the slight adjustment - sings really well in my head. :-)
The voices in my head are telling me to buy more season tickets and start figuring out how to mount a grill and a new stereo in the back of the Jeep.
You too will come to know the Jeep.

The Yellow Rose of Texas WILL be sung when opposing team players receive a caution booking
From the Scottish Tartan Army supporters
We'll be comin', we'll be comin'
We'll be comin' down the road
When ya hear that noise of the Tartan Army boys
We'll be comin down the road!
1836 version as we all jump up and down and have the smoke going of in front of our Hinchada!!!
We'll be comin', we'll be comin'
We'll be comin' down the road
When ya hear that noise of the Texian Army boyz
We'll be comin down the road!
That set a few times then it grows into
Dale Tejas, Dale Tejas!
We'll be comin' down the road
When ya hear that noise of the Texian Army boys
We'll be comin down the road
Third verse is for he who was the worst
San'a Annuz runnin', San'a Annuz runnin'
We'll be comin' for the 'Mo
When ya hear that noise of the Texian Army boys
We'll be comin' ta 'venge the 'Mo!!!
Fianlly,
We will need to find a way to get Aggies and T'sips to come together for just the 90 minutes of 1836 football. Thus
We stand in arms locked and sway back and forth like a Kyle Field tradition and of course sing as loud and passionate as we can The Eyes of Texas are Upon You..................y'all feelin' it yet??? All this to look forward to and the freakin' Mundial all in one!!!
What a ride the NorthEnd will be!

there are some wicked chants and even if they are not all in english i would suggest using their sound or rythm.
