i saw cuenca play v. goias....cuencas team seemed really strong and very fast...sometimes too fast where their ball control can be matched to that of an infant. the attack is stellar tho, quinonez and matamoros played great games. as for liga, this team has the most experienced squad in international matches and i see them going very far. with the addition of delgado and that argentinian guy they just bought, there should be no reason that they cannot pass to the top 8 without little trouble. el nacional is a great squad with some really good talent, without borja though, a key piece of the attack is missing. they should be able to bounce back, especially since Lara is playing. i am glad that these teams are going to the libertadores because it gives them extra practice for world cup qualifiers. liga boasts the most amount of NT players, so does nacional. its perfect, hopefully both teams can make the most of their opportunity in the libertadores.

It's a good point you bring. These are, in essence, international games. Not exactly in the same category as a WC, but still, this is good practice for some of our players on LIga and El Nacional. Guys like Tin, Mendez, Salas (when he returns), Reasco, La Sombra, and hopefully Urrutia.
And the topic of Urrutia, everyone here seems to think he is a fantastic baller! So why is it that Suarez doesn't see that?

good question...i dont know...hes very consistent and is really quick and deadly with his shots from anywhere...suarez is clearly blind

Cuenca has to pull all the stops to qualify! Not impossible, but I don't like their chances. SUERTE CUENCITA!

Cuencita 0-Goias3.The final score did not resemble the game,El Cuencita played a mano a mano game. They did not go to brasil to defend themselves, the first 25 minutes was all Cuenca,it was like if they were at home. After that I don't know what happpen? The first gol was nice, there was nothing Klimovic could do about it.What bothers me is this colombian coach Diego Barragan, after losing 1 to nothing WTF did he do putting a volante de marca(Camilo Hurtado). He was supposed to put an attacking volante or a forward. This kid Espana is not baller,he is garbage.Spent most of the time on the pitch, the brasilian defenders were to much for this guy.The other sub was another volante de marca,Romero. The kid Matamoros showed some signs of talent obviosly he lacks experience.Anyways the commentators were giving el Cuencita some props, they won respect, the coach lost the game.

El Nacional is in a tough group, but I still have confidence in these boys, and I am sure they will do us proud. and is Borja back with them? taht would improve their chances slightly. and what is the deal with Ibarra as the titular GK? this is a joke! they should have signed Lanza or Villafuerte! or even Viteri!
