OK Salary caps and video evidence and other playing things are bad enough BUT
Are they serious trying to to the players in to the same as the No Fun League?
The whole game the "other" team's supporters give shite to players.
They barrack and jeer. It's part of the game.
Like the liverpool fans holding up a number 5. But are we really going to stop players giving it back. Showing they actually care about the fans.

Perhaps if we filled the EPL with foreign players who couldn't really give a crap about where the Franchise plays.
or
Is this the way of the future phone up the FA and complain about all the players and try to get them suspended or in court every week...

Its one thing to give some stick to the opposing fans, but its another thing to run 60 yards across the pitch in order to do so. There needs to be a line, and Neville crossed it.

Would you care to elaborate on what that line is and why he crossed it?
If I go to a game I may give plenty of opposition players (and even some of ours!) untold stick. If they turn around and shout something or make a gesture I laugh and say "what a twat" because it's obvious I've got under his skin which is the point really. I don't report him to anyone and I don't phone up indignantly to radio stations. Liverpool fans need to take a step back here and realise that if you're going to give it you've got to be able to take it.
And before anyone chimes in with the "incitement" angle, they're grown men, they can control themselves whether Gary Neville gestures to them and kisses his badge in front of them or not. No doubt they were winding him up all game and he took his chance to wind them up. Simple. If they can't control themselves then they should find themselves residing at Her Majesty's pleasure for a long stretch. "Incitement" is no excuse.

As Jamie Carragher said:
"I think there is a line and Neville crossed it". "I've heard people say it's justified because he gets a lot of stick from the Liverpool fans, but the truth is he gets the stick because he's been doing that for years.
"That's why it all started."
I don't have a problem with players giving a bit of stick back to the fans. It adds to the fun, but this was excessive. Thats why the FA is charging him with improper conduct.

Even if Neville wasn't giving them stick "first", I'm sure they would still give him a lot of abuse anyway as a ManYoo player. That's just part of football rivalries.
However that doesnt excuse what he did. He's supposed to be a professional and that means keeping your cool and not reacting to provocation like a kid. A few scouse insults is nothing, if he is so wound up by it that he needs to run across the pitch to them, then he needs to get a thicker skin.
Quite funny though that Carragher is the one speaking publically, when he was the player who previously threw a coin into the crowd, hitting a female spectator.

actually the "No Fun League" is pretty fun, and allows for more expression than the EPL, so your not so subtle dig is, well, stupid.

As far as celebrations go, you're right. But the expression shown during actual play, give me the Prem anyday.

i think the whole celebration thing is stupid. as long as they dont take forever then they should be allowed to do whatever. its a huge part of the game i think because of how intense some of the games can get. when u score u just wanna let it all out. as for video evidence i think it can be useful as long as they dont stop the game to use it because then its just like f**** american football. i think there was nothing wrong with what neville did. its the heat of the moment. i think liverpool just needed something to complain about because they lost.

Amen.
The Super Bowl is coming up.
I wonder if the ads will (again) be better than the game itself?

Now you KNOW the NFL has restrictions on using their trademarked names. You're supposed to say "The biggest Professional Football Game of the year." YOu can't say Super Bowl OOPPSSS !!!!!! :D

I don't see what's so wrong about running along the pitch celebrating a goal.
Oh wait, it was against Liverpool, aka Self-Pity City. Most cities have a background noise of cars/busses etc. In Liverpool the background noise is a constant low whining sound. I can just imagine the scousers complaining afterwards: "Oh god, it was dreadful, I was just sitting there checking me perm when Gary Neville ran up in front of us. I could barely contain myself, I almost started a riot. He should be locked up."

Didn't it occur to 'yall that Neville's celebration was a bit of an obscene jesture? OK, you can be filthy in a hip-hop video (or an Elvis Presley concert circa 1955 perhaps), but to all the kids out there in the stands and in TV land, it's a fairly inappropriate gesture.
That said, they showed his celebration over and over on the FSC highlights...

I'm a liverpool fan and it didn't bother me that much. That said when it happened i didn't see it live because i was on all fours with my head in my hand moaning about marking and carelessly giving up the set piece.
This is my take. Players should be allowed to celebrate with their own fans and not be allowed to taunt opposing fans. Now taunting is obviously open to interpretation. Now it would be things like giving fans the finger and the like. To me rubbing the badge is showing love for your side and should be accepted. But for the most part the passion should be left in.

What's wrong with taunting? Those scousers should grow a thicker skin and stop feeling sorry for themselves.

I was at a basketball game and we taunted this Cal-State Fulerton player all game long. He hit the game winner in overtime and knocked us out of the NIT Tournament. He was so pumped up he jumped on the scorers table and grabbed his jersey and started yelling in the fans faces. We accepted it as touraround is fair play. We gave him hell all game , he wins and can turn it on us.
Just because you got beat by the brunt of your jokes, doesnt mean you get to whine!
