Como vai meus amigos?!

i recently downloaded this one song titled Festa Brasileira and i assume it was written right after our Seleção became Pentacampeão

It was apparently sung by Ivete Sangalo, Zeca Pagodinho, Gilberto Gil and others (whose names i can't recall right now)

If someone could get me the lyrics to the song, it would be apreciado muito! (or is it the other way around?)

Tchau!

I remember a song called Festa that the media played many times during the WC and after. I don't know if this is the right music that you are looking for.

Festa - Ivete Sangalo

Festa no gueto,
Pode vir, pode chegar
Misturando o mundo inteiro
Vamos ver no que é que dá

Hoje tem festa no gueto,
Pode vir, pode chegar
Misturando o mundo inteiro
Vamos ver no que é que dá

Tem gente de toda cor
Tem raça de toda fé
Guitarras de rock'n'roll
Batuque de candomblé
Vai lá pra ver
A tribo se balançar
E o chão da terra tremer
Mãe Preta de lá mandou chamar
Avisou, avisou, avisou, avisou...

Que vai rolar a festa
Vai rolar
O povo do gueto
Mandou avisar

Oi~! Como vai?!?!?!

Anyways... no, that's not the song i was looking for. From what i could understanding, these were some of the lyrics:

...camisa amarela
Aquela ?? pentacampeão
Aquela do nosso coração, Brasil

A nossa seleção...
A nosso pais...

i know it's not much to go with, but that's what i could make out of

Ah... i feel muito bem! Just came back from eating some churrasco... ummm... feijoada, alcantra, picanha, Guaraná, flán... :)

Tchau!

Eu vou bem! Obrigado. E você?
Ha! I ate churrasco last week! All days! At the beach! With caipirinha!

I found a music called Festa Brasileira. But I think this music was made before the 98 WC.

Mais uma vez, vamos torcer
E vestir a camisa amarela
Aquela, que é tetracampeã
Aquela, do nosso coração, Brasil
É galera! Tira o pé do chão Brasil!

Mais uma vez, vamos torcer
E vestir a camisa amarela
Aquela, que é tetracampeã
Aquela, do nosso coração, Brasil
A nossa seleção vai dar as mãos de novo
Balançar a rede
Sacudir o povo
Nosso país com a chuteira no pé e bandeira na mão
Vai ligar a televisão

Ahhhhh!!! Muito obrigado!!!! Este é exatamente o que eu procurava!

Funny though... i asked my friend from Brasil (another Coreano-Brasileiro) to translate this song for me and he thought "tetracampeao" was the "penta"... Either way, canção maravilhosa :)

Hmmm... i haven't tried caipirinha yet. How is it like??

Tchau :)

Yes! V is for Victor, my name! And Caipirinha is a drink. Here is a site teaching how to prepare Caipirinha. http://www.cookbrazil.com/caipirinha.htm

Man, what a coincidence!! Yesterday on one of the Monday night football talk shows there was this musician as a special guest. The host(I can't stand the guy, but the show has a great commentators line-up) asked the musician to sing something. The guy proceeded to sing....Festa Brasileira!!! Hahhaa...

Turns out the musician is Seu Jorge of "Cidade de Deus" or "City of God" fame. He went on to explain that he and another dude composed the song prior to the 1998 World Cup (hence tetracampeão, though yesterday he updated the lyrics to Penta).

The thing is, that song never caught on, as at the time there was another football related song who was topping the charts: "Uma partida de futebol" by a band named Skank (if Iam not mistaken, I have never been into music) and I also remember another one by Gilberto Gil who kinda became a sondtrack theme song for SporTV at France 98.

Ha... Skank... old school. I still have an old MTV Brasil cd that has them and a bunch of other musicians on it from like 97-98. :D

Seu Jorge's music's been pretty popular the past few years - he seems to have made the crossover, albeit a small one, into American music stores (it's a start!) "Cru", "Carolina", "Ana (Carolina) & Jorge" and a few others all within the past 3 years or so.

Sorry, I don't know much about this program, cause it was started as I was leaving for classes, so I only seen the intro and some odd bits of it.

I will try to find some pictures of it to see if it can refreshen your memory.

Sorry I don't got a answer to this topic but I do have a question

What does Paranaue mean? I started watching some Capoeria vids and these dudes were playing that song from "only the strong" and I can't figure out what it means.

BTW Capoeira mata um :D
