Ok, after the success of the NYC meetup, the plans for the Chicago meetup are accelerating at a very fast pace. Plans are afoot for a football match on Saturday afternoon pitting the Manchester United Forum Vs. the Arsenal Forum, a dinner/piss up on Saturday night before the match, and, of course, the group viewing at The Globe Pub of our beloved team against those dodgy soupchuckers.
Feel free to post first impressions of whether you think you are interested in attending, as we're busy planning these things now, and would like to get a preliminary count of how many United members are planning to come.
Thanks.
Once again, the match is on Sunday April 9th so get those calendars out.

I'm looking into this, definitely interested. The NYC meetup was a great time, and I expect this to be much of the same.
As for the match vs. the Arse forum, time for me to find the knee brace, and pencil me in for central defense, as was posted by IIRC SirM/Johno in our Forum XI teamsheet. Not sure if the other half of the pairing can make it though, whaddya say Teso?:)

I'm looking into this one as well...The NYC meetup was a blast... and as long as we can keep Ray from convincing us that trips to the bathroom will lead us to victory we should be in good shape...:p

We'll just have to lock you in the bathroom for the month of June into July so the US can win the World Cup...
It's a small price to pay for the greater good of your country...;)

Man, I'd love to go but Chicago is a tad far from Toronto, and April's exam month.. : \

Just run a cable in there to an HD television and keep some beer in the toilet tank and it'll be fine. :D

FYI, just looked up some stuff on Expedia. From NYC, leaving Sat morning and coming back Sunday evening, flight/hotel/car is about $200-300 per person.
Oh yeah, this is definately gonna happen! WOO HOO!!!

for anyone interested here are some links:
The Globe Pub - www.theglobepub.com
CTA (public transport) - www.transitchicago.com
stuff to do - www.metromix.com
This is going to be tons of fun. Most of the hotels are near the Loop on the north end of Michigan Ave. However, there is a Day's Inn on Diversey Ave in Lincoln Park. Not sure if its nice or is expensive, but it is way closer to the fun bars and non-touristy stuff. I'll post some more links in here if I can find them and more info once I find it out.
