There is a very important reason why "Breslau" and "Allstein" are now Polish, and it has nothing to do with Polish skinheads or hooligans. As for Gdansk, it was German only during the rise of nationalism of the 19th and 20th centuries, prior to that it was a city within a Polish crown where the majority spoke German; but that did not make it a "German" city, just like Los Angeles is not a "Mexican" city now.
