Anybody own a TOFFS top here? I just got my 1960s Arsenal one in the post today.
Beautiful top. Handmate from British cotton on Tyneside, so soft as a pillow, and an individually sewn cannon crest (so every shirt is marginally different). I love it.
Stylish way to get out of the yearly shirt race, too.

Careful when you wash it...could shrink big time if it's all cotton.

I've been meaning to get one for years. Glad to hear you're pleased.

proud owner of a 60s/70s home long sleeve shirt, bought at the stadium shop. When I can put a few more bucks together, I will purchase one of the track tops...

in regards to the washing thing, my shirt was a little big on me, so i washed it normally and put it in the dryer. It shrank and it fits perfectly now. It's the Celtic 1967 Euro Cup final kit. Same colors as my college, so i wore it at the basketball games!
anyways, after that I just washed it in really cold water and would let it air dry and it kept it's size.

i might pick that one up when I'm over there.
I've got the 1979 FA Cup Final track jacket, but it is going to be 2 years old in may and I like the red one!

yeah. and of course, first time it gets washed, have to wash it alone or the red will bleed all over the other clothes.
I got a 1960s Oldham Athletic one too (I have a fair bit of family in Oldham, and my grandfather was born literally across the street from Boundary Park). It's all dark blue, so I expect to give a two finger salute to some poor unsuspecting Chelsea fan someday!

The Toffs has been something I've wanted for awhile, but this past trip, I picked up the Nike Highbury tracktop instead...Anyways, love track tops!

The only bad thing about the TOFFS tracktop is if you're like me, which means you're not an away-shirt kind of person, you have to buy the 1972 trackie.
They lost 1-0 to Bremner and Leeds that year!

I bought a 1960's Vasco da Gama away shirt from TOFFS quite a few years ago!

I have the jersey they wore against Liverpool in 1989 with 4 on the back, and the jersey they wore against Liverpool in the 1971 FA Cup final with 11 on the back. Very happy with both.

I have a short-sleeved 1971 Double shirt that I ordered when I first started following Arsenal...it might have shrunk a little, but mostly, I think I just got fat.

I'm planning to get the 60's home soon. What number did McLintock wear in the 60's? I know he wore 5 in the 71 Cup Final, but I'm not sure if he had a different number in the 60's.
On the topic of Toffs, if anyone's interested in getting a Charlie George 71 Cup Final shirt for their child on the cheap, I'm selling mine. Like a tool, I ordered a childs large instead of a mens large the first time round :o.

Numbers were based on position then. McLintock usually played at right back if I remember, so he'd normally wear 5. But he'd also push up into the midfield, so he'd wear 6, 7 if need be.

I'm pretty sure Frank was a center back ;).

McLintock played right half for most of his Arsenal career.
And he did indeed wear 5 in the 1971 Cup Final.

Ah ok, google search gave me:
Frank McLintock signed for Arsenal in 1964 for a then British record of £80,000 as an attacking right-half. He was a natural leader of men, a commanding and demanding captain he led by example and was respected by his team-mates for his never-say-die attitude. Don Howe switched him to centre-half in the 69-70 season.
I've only seen him in 71 Cup Final as a center back, so I wasn't sure.

I've got the '71 long sleeve jersey and as long as you dry it flat rather than stick it in the dryer it won't shrink.
