I don't currently drive one but the one thing you're not thinking of is in Northern states we gwt something called snow that falls on the ground.. Now when this phenomenon occurs the eeasiest and sefest way to get around is a vehicle with 4wd/awd. SUV's tend to have this trait hence the high percentage of SUV drivers..

As someone who in the past has owned vehicles with 4wd/awd and now owns a vehicle with rear wd I'll tell you that my next car will have awd because every time we get even a sprinkling of snow I fear for my life.... The only thing that makes me feel safe is the German Engineering...:D

Sorry, dude, doesn't work.

I lived in Boston, MA for 4 years for college. My wife and I are moving back to Boston next year. My wife is from SLC, UT. We both know all about driving in cold weather.

We also know that more people drive cars up there than down here in the south.

Unless you're a real idiot, or live in - say North Dakota - a car with decent wheels and steering works perfectly fine in the ice and snow. TBH, it's worse down here, where it'll freeze one day, and all the idiots (ok, they're just inexperienced, to be fair) have no idea how to handle it.

haha teso im sure there is something your scared of. you must have a kryptonite. I also hate the massachusetts driving laws. Im 15 turning 16 in april and I could have my licence to drive on my own by then, but i dont even have my permit since i live in mass. Just another reason to move out here.

Trust me it's better that way... You people from Massachusetts are an absolute ********ing menace on the road...

If you see someone go immediately from the left lane across all 3 lanes of traffic to exit on the right.. It's a 95% chance they're from Mass. It's like cars are an alien invention in that state..

That's bullshit.. I'm sorry...

You can't push your morals on others.. AWD vehicles of any kind are safer in the snow and ice. End of...
Not everyone is a confident skilled driver like you and your Mrs. There is nothing wrong whatsoever about trying to make sure you can get to work/school/get the kids to school etc...

Don't give me the environmental aspect of it either because I own a hazardous waste treatment company so I'm in the environmental field..

Your argument is bullshit I'm sorry....

Perhaps one does not use a truck everyday, but maybe twice a month something comes up (where I live) to need to haul something, hence my father owns a truck. If you say its useless, you have never had the need for one!

As someone who tailgates more than the normal person, trust me, having a truck is a very very good thing.

:D

Well, here, for some reason, we (at least the people I do it with, and next fall, me) don't use trucks per say when tailgaiting we set up tents and lawnchairs and ice chests and sit in the grass outside the stadium. I don't really see alot of people literally on tailgates.. of course that could just be me not perceiving them.

Oh, I didn't mean actually sitting on the tailgates. I meant you need the truck in order to bring tables so you can play Beirut (beer pong, for those non-Lehigh-ians here) :p

Gotcha, good call. Although there is nothing wrong with Sitting on the tailgates to drink beer.. just not at a sporting event.
