although he only played for about 20 minutes, i thought he did well, obviously he couldn't attack so much as makelele and essien weren't there to cover but i thought he played well. what do you think?

He did OK. 20 minutes isn't enough for real analysis though. If he plays against Barcelona that'll be a better test. I do wish he was a bit faster, however - age is clearly catching up with his physical skills.

i thought he did a great job of distributing the ball. he was very tricky. changed direction well. he didn't have a lot of pressure on him, so that gave him time to make decisions. i can't imagine he'll get that much time against tougher competition (i hate to say that since we just drew with charlton). he and lampard didn't play well together...but i guess you'd expect that from a new player. he'll never be a replacement for maka or essien, but he's good to have on the bench.

i thought he did well. He didn't make any mistakes and his distribution was good.
