None of the Germans (or at least the ones I know or have experienced) will say anything remotly related to the Nazis. My dad who grew up in West Germany has told me about how the West Germans were tought to take responsibility for it, and why the Nazi's were horrible. The children understood what they did wrong and have been able to pass that down. He did know a few East Germans and he said that they didnt take as much responsibility and it was more like it was a few bad apples gone wrong in a noble cause. Although it clearly is the opposite as a German I know how touchy of a subject and how horrible the Nazis were and will steer completely away.
PS. Does anyone know if there were any issues back in the 74 WC in Germany, based on World War Two problems?

Tell her you're a big fan of Keane, and she'll probably say she is too.

Apparently none of the standard airlines fly from Edinburgh to Newcastle, I was curious and was amazed.
Like Teso said it's only 90 minutes, plus it's actually quite cheap on the train. £9.50 if you book quite far in advance. Probably about £20 on the day.

btw StrikerCW, if you are planning to come to Newcastle don't come between the 10th and 13th June because I will be in Holland and Germany.
I have tickets for a certain World Cup game in Gelsenkirchen on the 12th.:p

Since it is apparentlly the greatess city on Earf I might have to visit. But as of right now plans are changing rapidly anyways. I might have to (or want to) lower my holiday by a week and cancel Barca if I get a new job this summer.. I'm not sure how much they will like me leaving for a month!

Happiness is....
So I went to my local Y yesterday morning at 6:30 to work out as I do every weekday morning with my Ipod. But when I get home I could not find my Ipod anywhere. I knew I had it at the gym, check the car, not there, not in my gym back either. Later in the morning I called the Y and asked if anyone handed in an Ipod. No. Got home after work and searched everywhere again. Still could not find it. Went to the Y again this morning, asked the front desk, and gym people, still no Ipod. By now I was resigned to never gettin my Ipod back.
So I get home this morning and just as I am walking in the back door, I see my Ipod lying on the ground next to a step.
Oh my wonderful Ipod, how could I have been so careless with you...

Father Ted, a regular poster on these boards, has angrily denied the accusations in the morning's papers. The article claimed that a well-known poster had used an Ipod as a sex toy.
"There is no truth whatsoever to these allegations," according to a statement released by Father Ted. "It is true that I am very fond of my Ipod and it is true that I thought I had lost it forever. However, I have never had sexual relations with that device, the Ipod. Not once."

I love my Ipod too. I'd be lost without it. Oh, the precious.

You poor silly souls. Buying into the fake paradise that is the Ipod. Dell has the same device but for less. I got myself a Dell Jukebox (fine, the name is a bit geeeey) for the same price as a Ipod Mini, except it had the disk space of a regular Ipod. Hmmmmmmmm..... Now I'm not claiming to be a wise man (far from it) but that seems like a good deal. For those who are looking into this as an option, please at least shop around before you get hooked by a name.
I prolly should have put this on the speak your mind thread, but too late.
Same thing with phones. All I wanted when I got my new phone was the ability to call someone and maybe even store their number. Now everything has to come with a fax, camera, video, toenail clippers, shotglass, and fish scaler. Granted, I use the camera, but only in appropriate situations.... :D

One thing that I hate about Ipod (I do not own one, but friends do) but especially with the software that comes with it, Itunes. Although it is a good program do NOT EVER let it organize your music. It will rename everything and try to group it (and thanks to modern technology of borrowing each song from a different place, not an album). This results in possibly 20 songs by the same artist in different folders!!! Making it extremely difficult for someone like me to reorganize them into simple folders under the artists' name!!!!!!!!

The iPod actually organizes its files according to their ID3 tags, which you can download a program to edit. I have a massive 15gig mp3 collection, and I <3 my music so I do put effort into organizing my music. If you're a light user, the time investment will probably not be worth it...
I use ID3 TagIT 3, and it allows batch-renaming of ID3 properties like album, so it makes grouping songs very easy.
