Anyone going to this? I wouldn't mind meeting up somewhere with some of you and having a pint beforehand.

Make sure you wing your ass off with anyone willing to do so.

This unfortunately will be subdued atmosphere, but in Columbus vs. Mexico, I had an amazing time.

As did MiniLB and me. Were you in with Sam's Army? It was a heck of a night.
Top 5 football experience for me.

6 - I can't afford it, went to England last month and going to Germany and Austria in the Spring to see my daughters -- one is married and living in Germany and the other is taking her semester abroad in Vienna.

I'll be going if I'm in town, should know early next week. You have tickets yet?

I'd imagine I could be pursuaded to have a beer before/during/after the game. :)

My boys and I are working on it. I have a friend with a friend who works at SBC, so we're trying to score some free tix since we're cheap bastards and want more beer money.

I work literally six blocks from the stadium, so I'll definitely be down for meeting up if I go. What day of the week is it on?

Yikes...shoudl be rad to see them, and that's gonna be a hell of a trip.

And here I was feeling sorry for my mom who has one son in New Mexico and one in Northern California (she's in Kansas).

And can someone tell me what 'wing my ass' means?

Friday night 2/10 at 8:00. Plenty of time before the game for a beer or two.

If you end up getting comps and have a spare, let me know. I'll gladly throw my $30 into the community beer fund.

http://www.jusspress.com/photos/23439/20050903/181212.jpgWe sat about a quarter of the way up on the "S"

http://www.jusspress.com/photos/23439/20050903/193632.jpgI was 2 people to the left of the girl who took this picture. So this is basically my view of the match.

Not to get too far OT but definitely my favorite soccer experience as a fan. I was hoarse for three days after. We got in the night before and sang our asses off at the bar reserved for Sam's Army.

The only con was the two middle-aged "men" in front of me who were "appalled" at all the singing and dancing. I asked one tall "gentleman" to lean to the side 30 minutes before the match so I could get a low angle shot of the field from our end seats. He told me to "enjoy it because once he stood up I wouldn't see the match". As soon as kick-off we all stood up onto the backs of him and his friends seats and we proceded to jump up and down for the whole game singing and shouting. I hope he went home half deaf after whining everytime we started a chant or threw streamers.

He can stuff his discount seats up his ass [perks of Sam's Army, provided you support!]. I had to get touted tickets [@ face value b.c Sammer's are good like that] and had more friends stay home b.c we couldn't assure them seats.

When I saw it on TV back home it looked great. Lots of fun.:D

I don't have a ticket yet, so i'm not sure.

Am going to the Norway/Mexico match tonight, though. Two of good buddies are Norwegian and are stoked.

You must have been right behind the Barra Brava [ or another DC fan group ] then. Monty and the Midnight Riders were right behind us and our whole row [ to my left ] was Roch./Buffalo. The guy to my immediate left was one of the New Jersey guys [ He had the large US cardboard Shield/Badge ].

My personal favorite was... "If I had the wings of a sparrow", but "Dirty Sanchez" came out great because you could tell Oswaldo Sanchez [ Mex GK ] was ********in piiiiiiised. :D Especially when we streamered his net after Beasley's goal.

Also, one thing I noticed. You can't truly appreciate how fast Landon Donovan is, unless you see him in person.
