Funny thing with Defoe is, we bought him for £7m. Westahhm just paid £7.25m for Dean Ashton, a player who played all of what? 12 games in the EPL last season? Who got the better deal....Hmmmm, I wonder.

Looking at Westaaahm's last generation of players, consider how much they're worth now, and who they're playing for.

Posh, your valuations are spot-on.

Cheers Chris.

I was going to say that King was priceless, but at the end of the day, every player has a price.

Is that how much he would have cost us at the time we took him on loan, or how much he will cost us now (i.e., you disagree with Posh's 6 million assessment)?

This brings up another issue. Should we be concerned that someone will come in and swoop up Mido from Roma under our noses? The Villa game reiterated how badly we currently need him. Has our stringing him along raised his price for us, or worse, made it more likely someone else will want him?

And if so, should we rely on getting someone like Kuyt (sp?) in the summer? With Mido we have someone who seems to have adapted well to England, to the club, and to the manager. With Kuyt, we don't know how well he will adapt... or if he shows this World Cup summer that he can hang with the big boys, we could lose him to another club.

Does anyone else think we should finalize an agreement with him the second he gets back (hopefully healthy) from Africa?

I'm still not entirely convinced by Mido's consistency, or even more so how his attitude will hold up if the deal is made permanent and/or the club brings in a more capable challenger than Rasiak.

I think the club is doing the right thing sitting on his loan until the summer.

I think we should get Mido signed ASAP. He is a massive loss when he is not playing and Jol seems to be getting the best out of him.

He seems to like it at Tottenham, he is even wearing the number 15 for Egypt, i dont know if that is a superstitous thing.

Posh, you valued Rasiak in Polish zloty, not British pounds I hope...

I'd cut Robinson to 10 million as goalkeepers are usually cheaper, rightly or wrongly.

King I'd put at 18 million and Dawson up to 8 million.

Stalteri I'd cut to 1 million and raise Tainio to 3 million, no way could I have them the same value.

These are minor differences though.

I should imagine that the terms of Mido's loan arrangement include a possible price (an 'In the region of' price), and a 'First Dibs' for Spurs. I don't think our DoF of the time, although he's turned out to be a backstabbing turdbag, was an idiot when the loan terms were agreed.

I am sure (as is the case with most loan deals) that when Spurs signed Mido from Roma on a loan deal, an agreement was made for a future fee that was set at the time.

Let's just say that it was set at £3.5 Million (which I think it was btw), then even if Mido went onto lift the World Player of the Year Award after scoring 70 goals for Spurs, Spurs would only have to pay the figure set at the beginning of the deal.

As far as I know, future fee's on loan deals do not fluctuate.

Even raiting Kelly at 0 is too much. Hell, whoever takes him next, regardless of how much they pay (if any) will have overpaid for him.

It's such a shame the kid has an attitude problem. That is the problem with many young players.

I was the same. I played and thought I was the best, and so did many other people. But it got to my head and I felt that I didn't need to continue exerting myself as I was better than the rest.

In the end, I got dropped and my contract was cancelled. That was the end of my short pro career.

I wish younglings like Kelly would let the football do the talking. They would be so much better for it.

One thing I will certainly do is go into coaching. I do feel I can help the 'Kelly-Type-Player'.

Robbo, Defoe and Keane are a little less imo. Lennon and Dawson a little more. Last but not least King is priceless.

If the Mido deal does not work, sign Dennis Oliech from Nantes. By the time the deal doesn't cut he would have scored 16-20 goals in ligue 1.

...I thought the amount I put on Lennon's head was too much. You see, this is his first season in the Premiership and he's only played 75% of it so far.

Dawson will raise in value at the end of the season.

Robinson, Defoe and Keane are all international class players. I think the value I placed on them does reflect the current market.

Put it this way, if Spurs decided to put them on the market and I was a director of football at some other club, I would expect the club to ask for the price I placed on them.

I have the same issue at Bee, why rasiak at £1?
I don't know that he's worth nothin', but even that seems a lot.

PoshSpur

Because we could get £1 Million for him. Selling a player for a million squid is fairly easy to do in today's market.
