so the english premiership season is halfway through. since you guys have chosen players of the half season, i thought it would be interesting to see your goal of the half season. Mine is Robin Van Persie's against blackburn.

Ruud's first (the chest-down and turning finish off a magnificent Rooney assist) vs. Charlton, off the top of my head.

I second the vote for RvP's goal against Blackburn.

Another for RvP, he never should have shot, he should of gone down from the clip he got on his back foot (if it was reyes he would have:) )
but he shot and what a ripper it was!!!

my exact reaction when he scored was, if I remember correctly. "Holy ********ing shlt, did he just do that."

def the goal of the season thus far for me, of course Im a bit biased.

I agree, that goal was spectacular.

Definitely some bias here, but Crespo's left-footed cracker against Wigan in the first fixture of the year was a fantastic goal as well.

Recent developments:
Anton Ferdinand on Monday against Fulham. Equal to RvN's IMHO.

Benyaoun's goal in that game was just as good.

Xabi Alonso's goal from 70 yards was pretty good too.

Don't know which one would be the best, but Danny Mills against Everton earlier this season has to be one of the best so far:

From Fulham, I'd probably say Collins John's against Boro or even Claus Jensen against Arsenal.

From all the games I've seen, I can't argue Anton Ferdinand's against Fulham or RVN's against Charlton.

Yea...John versus Boro.

It really was special, but I don't think 1/2 of the people here saw it.

ambrose's for charlton in the same match was sweet, as well.

for my money, though, van persie's was the best thus far.

Was that the left-footed volley from the edge of the box?

the RVP goal? yeah.

Actually I was asking about the Collins john one in question, but the RvP goal was sheer class.
