Every time this 3rd division mess of a player, with all the technical skills of a pregnant duck messes up (which will probably be pretty much every match for the rest of the season since Quintintintintin Fortune is out for the rest of the season), it's going to be added in here.
Saturday, March 6th
Home Fixture - FA Cup Quarter Final (Fulham)
- Wes gives away the most needless penalty in nation has seen for years by sliding over the ball in a race to get to it just so he can take the opposition out of it, which puts United down 1-0; luckily they get back into it an win 2-1.

Ask a pregnant duck to program C++ or build an xml-enabled version of Caesar's Box and you'll find out just how technically challenged it is. I bet that 9 out of 10 pregnant ducks would look for the "Any" key if handed an instruction manual for a keyboard.

Well, I'm gonna leap to Wes' defense here.
It happened pretty fast and was unexpected in that the whole thing was caused by a Roy Keane mistake in failing to run the ball out of play properly. Many of the previous goals have been caused by the midfield giving the ball away or not putting pressure on the player providing the cross. We have not been defending as a team, so blaming one player is just finding a scapegoat.
I reckon Wes will be fine though like every player we have bar Rio he looks dodgy in the air.
Oh yeah, keep quiet on the duck, or Chelski will nip in and and sign her before we do :)

:D Yeah, but ask it to nutmeg a defender of make a saving tackle and it won't come up so good. Ask Wes to do the above an you'll be given a blank stare and a touchline ban for the rage he'll induce on you.

I think Arse-nil and the rest of the EPL along with Porto definitely appreciate him.

He actually had a good game in the 2nd leg against Porto. The goal was not his fault - him and O'Shea were marking two players, he followed his man back in and O'Shea didn't. It was O'Shea's man that scored.

I completely disagree with you... i think that given time the pregnant duck would not only replace Brown in the lineup but also nutmeg him frequently in practice... only to be played out of position at right half.
Brown did not have a good game per se, but he had what u call a defender's good game because he did not make any blunders, just made tackles when they were supposed to be made...

This bickering is pointless. The transfer window is closed. Besides, I don't know who the pregnant duck is currently in contract with. Maybe if we offer 50 mil, Roman will outbid us. http://pages.prodigy.net/rogerlori1/emoticons/devil.gif

Despite the pregnant duck getting the tour of Old Trafford, and its family really taking a liking to the grounds and Sir Alex, it decided to sign with Chelski.

WES BROWN IN UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE BEST XI

WES BROWN (Manchester United)
The one-time United golden boy has endured a torrid time in the centre of defence since returning from injury. Brown raised his game significantly on Tuesday to show the form that earned him a trip to the 2002 World Cup. Much more aerially dominant than usual, Porto's late goal was particularly cruel on Brown.
This isn't a joke, and that's what is so funny!

LOL!
I actually thought he had a good game and was not to blame for the goal (our only defender running back in and it wasn't his man who scored). But the tie was over two legs and in the first we gave away two weak goals to which he was equally to blame with Gary Nev.

Two weak goals??? My god, what game were u watching... Mc Carthy's volley was sublime.. absolutely sublime, an excellent finish and its not like he trapped the ball, if he did, I would have blamed the defender on him... but that goal happened because our midfielders were not back to help... only when u have more players than the attacking team in the box, can u be anything but goal side of a striker... and lets not start on the header... a truly classical goal, that ball was bent from behind him! its hard just to make those go forward in the general direction of the goal, but that shaved the post - ok, so maybe a defender should have won that header... but if you want soft goals, look no further than Zidane's goal against Bayern on Wed. the Munchen defenders stopped playing - the ball took 2 deflections and Zidane was alone by about 5 metres to tap in...

Two weak goals from a defensive point of view. His movement and finishing were excellent - so yeah from his/their point of view great goals, but from our point of view they were weak goals for our defenders to concede because;
- on the first his position was between two defenders and neither was directly between him and the goal, one of them should have been tighter - they knew the cross was coming
- on the second great header by him, but he outjumped two defenders on a ball crossed from their own corner flag (OK, maybe not that far away, but you know what I mean!), again I think his starting position was between the two defenders
IIRC that was the first time that Nev and Brown had played together and there probably wasn't enough communication.

I typed his name in the search engine and found he had no thread!
I'm still high off the win today and watching the match for the 3rd time :D
I think Wes needs his own thread. He has been fantastic for a while now and really looks like a quality CB - SAF always said he was the best defender at the club ( I think he meant player who gets stuck in and actually likes to do the gritty stuff) but unfortunately Wes has been so frequently injured that up until this season I didn't even know what kind of CB he was so often was he out of the team for extended periods of time.
I hope for Wes' sake he is over his injury worries because he really looks like a class act out there and the perfect compliment to Rio's elegant style. I would go as far as to say that his spot in the starting xi should be assured and Vidic and Silvestre (titter) should be fighting to take it from him.
Here's a tribute to Wes, *raises glass*
