now this dude would be ideal to replace sven.
he isnt afraid to drop underperforming players and wouldnt allow beckham to run the show like sven does.
Its gotta be either him or Allardyce IMHO.
Lets hope it aint friggin alan curbishley.

I don't think Beckham would be much of an issue after this World Cup anyway.

What's wrong with Curbs?
he aint the type of guy for the job.
the fact that he wears a cotton tracksuit on matchday rules him out.
how can someone who doesnt even wear a suit command the respect of all the ego's in the team? :)
never lifted charlton above mid table.
its either Big sam or Scolari for me.

Allardyce is nothing like Taylor, what a silly comment.
I agree sinner, either Big Sam or Big Phil for me. We need a strong personality like that who can get results, is up with the modern game and won't take any crap.

id be happy with either of those two.
Lets hope the FA dont appoint some total sap like McClaren.
or worse yet!!! sven decides to stay.

Sven will be staying... The FA have defended him in the past and they will do it again. They will not want to rock the boat at this late stage.
I personally think he should go and we get Sam in. Lets face it how hard can it be to manage one of the best national teams in the world. I could probably do it...

The job needs someone with experience. That rules out any English manager. Sad fact of life.

England are not one of the best national teams in the world. We are horribly unbalanced, have no strength in depth and can't even pass the ball properly.

You are one of the best. Not Brazil level, but after that you in the chasing pack with the other big nations.

Scolari would be a brillaint appointment. He'd get the best out of the players and not afraid to make big changes.
agree with sinner, Big Sam or Big Phil :)

Same way as the Holland and Germany jobs require someone with experience?

Don't need vast amounts of trophy winning experience to be a good international manager, just tactical knowledge and the right focus. Plus luck of course.
Plenty of experienced managers have done badly - Van Gaal, Trappatoni etc...

They have vast experience of the international game and of those particular countries. One has also been coaching for quite some time. No English manager has that and no experienced English player has shown anything to suggest that they could do likewise.

Is there anybody from England capable of doing this?
Rijkaard underachieved with Holland, in my opinion - they had a team capable of winning Euro 2000, and didn't. Voller did about as well as he could with a poor German team.
The jury is still out on Van Basten and Klinsmann.
Plus England did basically do this with Glenn Hoddle, and it wasn't really a success.
