Any social studies teacher not teaching at this moment? Someone want to tell me why its important to learn history? Preferably in 2 pages.

Grad school blows.

I'd be up for an NYC viewing party...I think.

Also never been to, but want to get to:

Miami
Dallas
Houston
New Orleans (a little late now :( )
Nashville
Memphis
Athens GA

In Dallas I liked the sign on the door of the Book Depository (now a museum) "No firearms". :D

Memphis highlights were Graceland (soooo kitsch), and standing on a levee looking at the Mississippi - don't think I'd ever seen such a wide river before.

Bars and restaurants in Houston - definitely good city for oral pleasure. ;)

Yep. That's Texas.

And imagine how wide the Mississippi (full marks on the spelling there, Agave) would be without the levees!!

I liked it too....for a good mindless action/adventure type film. My main criticism would be that Peter Jackson could've cut out about 30 minutes of it.....way too long.

me and ash were both like "kill the damn monkey already!!"
i couldnt suspend reality that much.. even though i tried..
"mindless" is an accurate description...
after an hour and half, i thought "we did see 'king kong' right"?

i snuck into "hostel" for 5 minutes, looked pretty good...

Learnt to spell it years ago with a sort of rhyme

Em
eye double ess
eye double ess
eye double pee
eye

Stayed with me for some unknown reason.

Why a kid from England was taught a rhyme to spell Mississippi I have no idea.

Wow. Can you name the five Great Lakes too?

Thats impressive though. Americans are not obviously taught how to spell Lye-chester, Glou-chester, Ber-ming-ham, or West-minister.

We used to have a joke when we were kids, "How do you spell Mississippi with only one eye?" When the person would say, "I don't know.", you'd cover one of your eyes with your hand and say "M I S S I S S I P P I".
