This is the red tape I now have to go through at work. To get mileage reimbursed I have to do the following:
1) Get a yellow mileage card
2) Fill in name, month and employee #
3) Enter destination, purpose of trip and who I met with.
4) Enter mileage
5) Enter whether it was business or personal (uh, why would I file a report for personal driving? )
6) Tape this yellow card to an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper. Make sure to tape the top and bottom. If I don't do it right, it gets sent back.
7) Enter all this same information into an expense report on the computer
8) Print the expense report and staple it to the piece of paper with the card taped to it.
9) Vow not to travel again.

Can you ask for an assistant to manage your travel expense claims?

No kidding, I spend as much time on overhead admin now as I do billable work. And the best part is they don't track non-billable work if you go over 40 hours.

That sucks, I love the Aquarium. ;) I used to have a fishtank with piranhas in it. Those little bastards were vicious. I started out with three little ones, then two of them ate the other so i had two medium sized. I ended up with one big one. He was a monster. Good times, sometimes i wish i could be 13 again. *sigh* :D
