when i eat with my parents we say grace.

bless us o lord
for these thy gifts
for which we are about to receive
from Thy bounty, through Christ our Lord. Amen.

said it at every dinner for as long as I can rememebr

We used to do this:

Bless us oh Lord
And These thy Gifts
Of which we are about to receive
from thy bounty
through Christ our Lord, Amen.
May God provide for the wants of the poor
and for the souls of the faithful departed
through the mercy of God
rest in peace, Amen.

But of course! You are the life of any party Judy!

Think I should come with a health warning..."once drunk will not stop drinking and will not shut up".

Reason I'm going to be in London is because we have appointment at the Ashburton Grove reservation centre the next day to pick our seats. There are going to be three extremely hung over, or still drunk, members of our group!

Just hope I don't end up with a lousy seat because I couldn't see straight when they show us the "virtual view".

(Or sitting next to Rick. ;))

Oh, I don't do it anymore. Whenever I go to my parents' now, or anywhere else with people who say grace, I just lower my head and stay silent.

Ditto.

With the current fam it's the lighter, Luthern prayer:
Come Lord Jesus, be our guest.
Let these gifts to us be blessed. Amen.

Gotta love them midwesterners.

I have never (nor do I intend to do so) watched an episode of "Survivor" in my life. This guy is a moron. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060125/ap_on_en_tv/survivor_taxes

We have always been fans of :
Good bread
Good meat
Good Gosh
Let's eat

:D

Our son sings a cute blessing before dinner though. It is a little song that goes
God our Father, God our Father
Once again, once again
We would like to thank you
We would like to thank you
Amen, Amen
So very sweet to hear him sing it!

I'm partial to this:

May those who love us love us.
And those that don't love us,
May God turn their hearts.
And if He doesn't turn their hearts,
May he turn their ankles,
So we'll know them by their limping.

As a kid, it was:

God is great, God is good.
Let us thank him for our food.
Amen

Now we just tuck in and make sure the wine glass is full!

Yeah, I've heard some mixed reactions. I suspect that as we are some of the last to choose we may not get what we're hoping for.

As a new group you have to wait for the last person in your group to be sent their appointment and then all go to that. I had an appointment before Xmas, but a certain Rick B was the last one out of the hat.

He's in big trouble if the seats that are left really suck. :D

"Excuse me sir, but I need to be in the front row because when everyone stands I can't see the bloody pitch!"
