We here a lot about what a great team we're going to have when they mature, but, sometimes, I think our manager has his own issues to resolve?
This kind of reponse makes Arsenal look stupid! It's totally churlish to blame the sun for how we played today? Then to go on moaning about the way that teams on the road play against us... when is he going to realise this is professional sport, it's all about playing to your strenghs and the other teams weaknesses. I'd be all for referees giving teams like us more protection, so that quality football is dominant over intimidation, but, another whinge like this from Arsene really just means it's yet another week of him and the rest of the staff failing to find an answer to this particular problem? The infamous Plan B that, based upon how he repeatedly whines in interviews, like a kid that refuses to play because he's lost his favorite marble, he's still failed to engineer! The Bolton comment almost sounds like the way the team played today; defeatest?
Please Mr. Wenger, I think you are by far the best manager we've ever had, but, stop moaning because teams won't play in a way that allows us make them look stupid and second rate! Please find a workable Plan B!!!! Dude, if we could play mean and score a goal or two against the "ugly" teams, they'd be forced to come out and try and play football and then we could revert to the beautiful game and take em apart; normal service resumed? Make the bar-stewards have to find a Plan C? You know it makes sense????

While sure, the manager probably shouldn't be blaming the sun- I actually thought it was hurting our defenders alot in the first half. But I've always been a little churlish myself.
I was keeping a close eye on the sun level the whole game.

Or in actual fact they'd be foced to promise the ref sexual favours and get our players sent of for playing the game as its being played - Gilberto vs Newcastle for example...

The problem is Gilberto. When Vieira was there he could cover for his mistakes, now he is the main man and he cannot handle it as we've seen all season. The problem is when someone gets aggressive with us we don't become agressive back at them, we just sore of fold over. We've seen this today against Everton, against Newcastle, against Bolton, and partially against Middlesbrough in the beginning of the season. So I would concentrate more on Diaby's situation. Hopefully Adebayor, Diaby, and when Toure comes back they can provide that physicality. And let's all not forget Robin Van Persie!:D

Vieira would draw two players to him so Gilberto could do the clean up. Now all the attention is on Gilberto and he doesn't play that role. Cesc obviously plays a different game and the result is no midfield presence.
I am not hoping for Diaby to make a difference right away. I'm waiting for some leadership to arrive at the club. That I think is what we lost and why we look like a Championship side away from home.

Oh, Herbert Chapman disagrees with you. Without him, Arsenal are just another club.
The quotes are taken completely out of context, although him saying what Everton played is not football is rubbish.

I fully expect to be comped when you do find it!
As for the subject of the thread, I've read over it a couple of times, and the part about the sun is just a minor thing in the whole article. Wenger's point wasn't that the whole reason we lost the game was the sun. It was an aspect of it, but he also blamed it on us not creating chances. And yes, I don't necessarily agree with his assesment that Everton didn't play the game the "right" way, but didn't we hear complaints from all over early in the season that games were dull and had little or no action? So I hardly think he's alone in that assessment. He also said that we need to be "more muscular" against that style of play, so he understands that we need to do something about it. Hopefully, the new signings will help, but don't expect a quick fix when we've had this problem for awhile.
One other thing about the article: Anyone else notice how Everton was referred to as "belligerent"? Is the author saying that Everton's side was drunk and aggressive?

Free gonorrhea for jwaldman! Although why wait till I find it? Ask Arsonists for it - he seems to know where it is.
