Yes, I think we should buy a new player after every defeat....

The Everton defeat has nothing to do with the pressing need for us to replace Gilberto (allegedly) as the enforcer in our midfield.

we need a battler in midfield with some steel. im not talking about gilberto or flamini. someone who can come on and command some respect, but unfortunatly i dont see anyone who can come in and do that for us right now.
news of the world claim that we could plot to sign Baptista in the summer, which for me would be an excellent move because i think being in any other team than real madrid he would be solid.

He plays like a (misfiring) forward even when R.Madrid put him in midfield. I'm starting to doubt that anyone could get him to go back to his old role of a dmid that would get forward anymore. I'd rather have a dmid that wants to be a dmid and he'd likely be too expensive than those guys anyway.

I didn't vote because there wasn't a "Yes, but only if the right player at the right price is available...let's not buy for the sake of buying" category.

I vote yes and the Everton result has nothing to do with it.

Make that 2 for this option.

3 for that option - and before you ask, no i can't edit the poll - I tried that already!!:p

I went with "no, be patient" option, but I also agree with "no, be realistic" and yes, but where's the money coming from", along with yossarian's option. They are all saying basically the same thing. This isn't a video game, nor are we owned by a Russian mafia boss. We can still have a respectable season and maybe even win a trophy or two with our current roster. Bringing in the right player (or 2 or 3) could solidfy the team and make the odds better that we pick up the aforementioned trophies, but there's no guarantee as there aren't that many major impact players out there. I think we need to be patient and realistic about the club's current financial situation and the fact that this is a rebuilding year.

And another to take it to 4.

So you can make people slurp milk with Gus but no poll changing? Seems like the mod powers need to be re-directed!:D

I understand that buying someone just for the sake of it would be dumb, and we may have already done that with Adebayor? It's a bit of a cop out, but, the 'Yes' options assume that we would go after someone worth having!

The principle point is to see how many people feel that we still need to add outside strength to the squad. Not voting because there's no qualified option kinda defeats what I'm trying to gauge?????

1. Means even if we're tight on cash the status quo is not in the interest of the team.

2. Means..... be patient!

3. Means; I believe we need to do something, but, think that moolar will stop this being a possibility!

4. Let's just be realists shall we?

I voted yes...but assuming we wd be buying proven quality (not just for the sake of it or yet another kid).

Why? if we don't qualify for the CL:

1) opportunity cost wd be ALL the Vieira money ie £15m or something like that for group stages
2) It may then be more difficult to attract quality players over the summer
3) Henry might leave

AW has done well bringing in 3 players this window...
Shows he appreciates the teams current weakness. However, if we can do more..we must.

Are you rolling your eyes at me because I enjoy precision in language?

I voted Yes but where's the money gonna come from because what we need is a experienced stron d mid and I know that is gonna cost at least 10 mil and I don't think Wenger is gonna spend another 10 mil especially as we've already spent 10 mil on Diaby and Adebayor and the Walcott signing could actually end up costing us 20 mil according to todays Daily Mail.

I want to sign Graveson.

But my motives are purely to attract Lee Carsley to the club.
