Colo Colo bought a bunch of players for this season, their central defense and offensive mid/ forwards are just tremendous. On the other hand, Chivas have proven to be a very powerful side during the Interliga and have a very stable team. Post your comments about this game!.

is Gonzales the new back center on the main team now?

who should we look for in colo colo to do good? Is a must win for mapuches, in gudalajara is very hard to get a result.

chivas has problem with el 'artista' Bautista, mother die recently, I do not if he will travel to play.

chivas might be big in mexico but in south america they're just another small team.

A small team that just beat colo colo 3-1, and last tourney beat boca 4-0... i'm not trying to say chivas is the best, but to call them a small team is silly. i will not be one of those fans that talks trash about other teams, but i appreciate when people don't talk trash about my team either, that's all i ask.

Colo Colo played horribly, great counterattacks by Chivas. In the away game, mainly watch out for Matias Fernandez(by far the best Chilean youngster), Hector Mancilla(very good passing skills, efficient striker), Humberto Suazo(moves quickly, nice touch on the ball)and Jorge Valdivia(Chilean national team player, nice hit on the ball and very skilled).
If you want to beat Colo Colo just do the same thing you did on your home game, Colo Colo basically has 5 midfielders, 2 wings, 2 offensive mids, and 1 midfielder that is almost a stopper, as they play with 3 defenders.

The Chilean press has commented on Andres Gonzalez's arrival as paraguayan defender, Celso Ayala may form a strong defensive back with them, you guys dont have to worry about Ayala though, he is still working to recover from an injury.
Again, great display Chivas, you guys did well. Hopefully, Colo Colo wont embarass Chilean soccer too bad over in Guadalajara.

Mind you, I haven't been able to see the game (only the goals), but I think that Borghi's mistake was to have such a slow defense. He was right in that Chivas can be beaten if you keep the pressure on them all the time, as our defense is the weakest link (that's what Chiapas did during the weekend), but we also have some of the fastest strikers in MFL. That was most obvious in the third goal.

After watching the Colo Colo vs Chivas game once again on TV, I can't help but notice the superiority in ball handling that Colo Colo players displayed against the Mexican ones.

Jesus, how many balls were passed between their legs, how many players dribbled, etc.? Fernandez and Suazo were having a feast. I'm sure if the Mexican team had given them just a bit more space (as in not defending with 11 players inside the box) the clear dominance that Colo Colo exerted could've been transformed into goals.

It's funny... you could even see the Mexican players getting scared right after the second goal. Because of all of this, the merit is even greater for players like Oswaldo Sanchez and Omar Bravo. Those two came forward while the rest of their team was beginning to lose control of the game. The timing of all 3 of Chivas goals were perfect... just when you thought el indio could come back in one way or another, one quick counter attack immediately put everything back to normal.

In a way, considering the fact that it was the first official game for Borgui and the new Colo Colo players, I thought the personality displayed and the strategy (although a bit unbalanced) was a great start. The defense seemed slow, and most of the defensive midfield (Sanhueza, Villaroel) that were supposed to run back to help whe needed, didn't do so fast enough.

If those two points are worked on, and Colo Colo is able to exert the same amount of talent and pressure like they did in the first game, I can bet on a miracle happening in Guadalajara.

Chivas most important advantages are both experience and speed. This Chivas team has been playing together for more than a year... and except a few players, it is basically untouched. Omar Bravo is a great player... every time he would start to run, he would leave everybody else behind. Same for Medina. Their speed was definitely the factor that gave them the lead in the series.

I'm pumped for the next game. Borgui already said the team will play the same way in Mexico. I just hope the freaking defence gets up to speed... literally.

the game plan, my man

the game plan was read in 20 minutes by the dutch and faster counter attacks kill the mapuches! The Pk was very unnecessary by that defender, tough luck, and better game in guadalara, where chivas will just wait and cruise to a tie

I hope they show the same speed vs pumas over the weekend:rolleyes:

That's how chivas played in the last libertadores too, they just sit back for 15-20 minutes while that other team gets that home field high out of their system and once they tire out, chivas take control. Yea speed made some of the difference, but i think strategy really won it for chivas as well. After the first 20 minutes ofthe 1st half and first 5 minutes of the second half, it didn't seem to me that colo colo was playing with homefield advantage.
