Oh well, all in PF is what you want every time, eh? I'll take that every time and, if I lose, I lose. Nothing more you can do but get all the money in PF with those!

If I had to guess, at least 4 of those 7 pocket rockets were up against more than a single opponent, no?
Nope... only two, iirc. It's not that I am one of those thick all-in, non-stop players, but due to crap hands I HAD to move while I could (esp. due to low chippage). I got force to do the same there with pocket 10s (3 left, top 2 get paid, I would have been blinded out otherwise). I got trip 10s, another guy got trip 9s... and the 3rd guy got... a straight. Another straight.

I play Texas with friends occasionally. I'd play with you guys too, but you'd all kick my ass....

.... cause I'd take all your money! ARF! :)

...I just got knocked out of another game by a straight. I had kings & aces, there was also a 10 on the board. He had J/Q.

In yet ANOTHER tournament, I flat call with pocket 4s, hoping to hit on the sly. The flop comes 2, 3, 4 and I get a raise. I go all in, since Idon't have too many chips. He had the straight, and the turn and river brought nowt.

Stack size is everything in tourneys and, when you're short-chipped, you don't have any choice with moves a lot of times. If you get down to an M of 10 or less, your move is all-in or fold. Nothing you can doooooooooo...

Quit whining about your bad beats, you big baby ;)

I've played semi-regularly since about college and am in a very low stakes, once a month game here, but always play when I go to Vegas, usually 3-6 or something around those stakes, never winning or losing more than about $150 or so, it seems.

I see someone else has been reading the Dan Harrington books.

Guess I'm a weirdo. Someone under the age of 30 who plays more stud than hold-em.

Downloaded FullTilt, though I'm usually not very good. Maybe I'll learn a thing or two, get my very own ho, become another guy's bitch, that sort of thing.

hehe - I threw that out there to see if anyone had read those :) I highly recommend those two - they really helped round out my knowledge.

Let me say this: if you aren't a decent player already, I'd suggst not playing on FullTilt; go to PartyPoker instead. FullTilt, in my experience, is more likely to have solid players at every table whereas PP is going to be much looser and much easier.

And my fav game is 7-stud hi-lo but finding a game is impossible...

I wouldn't even dream of getting into gamling, I don't have the pshyche for it. I've a strikers mind and always will have. If I smell the slightest opportunity I go for it. That's all very well when you are playing football, for a gambling man, not so much.. haha

Ahhh but those are exactly the instincts that a successful gambler is supposed to have. Or so I read. I'm not so successful so don't listen to me lol

He he, maybe... but most likely it'd result in me winning one and loosing four...

To be honest, I play a lot more blackjack in Vegas than I do poker. Still nice to go out there with some friends and get seated at the same poker table, hang out and drink some beers without too much pressure to win or lose though.

I'm TheFarquaad, btw (nickname I earned off mates because of my aggressive play - throwing chips around like Lord Farquaad [the King] in Shrek). :p

Happy Valentine's Day, indeed... except to the poor chap that was all in against me.

Damnit! I was in a $10 tournament, got K/9 on small blind and flat called. The flop came K/10/3 rainbow, and somebody raised 400. I decided to make a move and bet all in; had I hit I would have been 3rd from chip lead. He calls with K/7 and I am delighted... until he goes and hits a 7 on the river. Oh well, $100 for the good in the last 7-8 hours so it's not too bad.
