2-1 Dortmund half time..

Dortmund having much of the possesion but creating little chances.

Metzelder had to go off thanks to a nasty elbow, he couldn't stop his nose from bleading.
I would like to hit Klimowicz myself

Typically we had to do it the hard way, but this was an important win nevertheless. After all the discussion during the week about Buckley and Gambino, it seemed almost fitting that one would conjure up the winner. Probably would have started with Buckley myself. What do I know....

I think at least this game Gambino proved himself
but then our Defense seemed to suck

Wolfsburg had 2 Chances and made 2 goals and then they got better

Scoreline really flatters Wolfsburg, but credit them with getting back into it after their second goal, however fluky it may have been. BVB had controlled the vast majority of possession and chances up until then, and it really shouldn't have even been a contest at that point. Good stuff from Gambino, Smolarek, and Sahin most of the game. Defense was rather shaky though, but Weidenfeller made sure to take control for the most part. Still too nervy at the end with Wolfsburg hitting the crossbar and having a couple of other chances.

Good win overall though, even against the sinking Wolfsburg.

I said on the list and I'll say here that I'm glad Gambino proved me wrong for one match.

But dude, are you really so freakin' dense??

You don't PROVE YOURSELF with ONE MATCH!

You have to do it over time to PROVE YOURSELF.

So, by your logic, Victor Ikepba was a good striker for us? After all, he "proved himself" with two goals against Rostock, didn't he??

I love that we won. I said during the debates that I wouldn't have a problem with either one BvM chose to play.

But don't give this "Gambino 'proved himself'" bulls#it. He scored a goal. Whoop dee f#cking doo! So did Christian Woerns!!!

I hope Gambino keeps it up and proves me wrong, but don't feed me this bulls#it please.........

Sahin did anything but proved himself. I don't know what that pretty boy's next career should be, but playing ball is out of the question. Thankfully he's still young, so it's time to go back to school or learn how to walk the catwalk and shake that booty. Terrible crosses, lost one-on ones, lack of ball control, absolute lack of knowledge of how to move without the ball. His only good play was the disallowed goal, and that was more a matter of luck than skill. The only worse player on the field was that lame left defender for Wolfsburg.

Curiously I think that Gambino wasn't that good today. Though he scored (that makes one more than Buckley this season ;-), but he lost many balls and most of the time didn't really take part.

Ah btw, forgot.....

"HAAAAAAANKE IST EIN HUUUUUURENSOHN, HAAAAANKE IST EIN HUUURENSOHN......!"

Would love to post that in the Schlacke thread, but I promised DF to stay away from PD's postings. ;-)

just finished watching the replay on FSC. Slow start, but she eventually got going. Odonkor ripped up that left defender. A few more lucky bounces and it could have been 5-2. Nice to see Ebi keep the pace up.

Wow, the first Dortmund game in awhile and they did not disappoint. Ok that defensive-goalkeeping bungle that led to Klimowicz's goal was pretty embarrasing but other than that a good performance.

I agree with Footyfan (although not as vociferously) that Gambino needs to play a bit better and more consistently to prove himself, but in the context of the statement (whether Gambino is better than Delron) I can see why it was made. I think we will all agree that the position is up for grabs and whoever does the best that week in training will get the start. Gambino wasn't bad, but he wasn't outstanding like Odonkor. He did a job and the lad got a poached goal for his efforts. Next game we'll see if he's proven himself. Schalke is going to be a tough game, no question about that. If he scores or at least does well then I think we can say that he's on the right track to becoming the everyday starter.

odonkor has the worst luck in the league.

By the way, you can go to www.fbtz.com/forum, sign up and go to full matches. They regularly post full BVB matches and highlights. The game against Wolfsburg is up right now.
