Also, at 6'0 165lbs (and judging by his picture) his parents were pretty prescient in picking his name. :)

So he's a CAM, a position that we really aren't lacking depth in. His offensive production in college took a hit his sophmore year, but was otherwise steady... Does this seem like an attempt to conversion project to a forward?

MLSnet lists him as a forward, though.
he's also a psych major.
Do I detect a pattern here?

If you were a psych major, you could probably answer that question :D

It's clear that PN is building the team around his favorite Freddy. He's just trying to surround him with the right peeps. :D

I detect a whiff of Gros in this pick. Who knows...

I get the feeling he is one of those players that a coach specifically asked to be listed. Nowak & Co. must have been doing some serious scouting to find this guy.

I have a feeling he'll play for the reserves all season and get waived when it's over...just another practice body.

Why would Nowak & Co. be doing serious scouting out on Las Vegas?
Oh, right.... "Scouting".

Oh, oh...I have a feeling too! Oh wait, it's gas.
None of us knew who the hell this guy was, and now we purport to know everything about him? Can we at least reserve judgment until we see him on any soccer field anywhere in the country?

Why not do that with your last two picks, rather than your second?

I haven't said anything about him as a player, just that I think he was on the list solely because Nowak asked for him to be on it. Remember it's the coaches who decide who is on the official Superdraft list, not the players themselves. I can't imagine that DC randomly selected him out of the blue, as A) he wasn't a combine participant, and B) UNLV isn't known as a soccer powerhouse.

Interesting to go over some of the pre-draft info on Buzz's site. I didn't realize that Dyachenko was ranked fairly high in the rankings (#21 out of 70):

For comparisons' sake, Carroll and Moose were ranked #6 and #8.

The spelling appears to be incorrect. Try searching in yahoo and you will get tons of hits with the corrected spelling.
I hope this helps those who would like more info on him.

He is to make up for the club's sudden lack of Ukrainians.
