Who should partner Crouch up front?
For me it is Cisse.
Not to keen on Morientes.
Good luck on Sunday V Man U.

2-1 to the Reds !!!!!!!!!!Cisse, he's a little one dimensional still compared to the way Nando uses the field and his skill. If you still get excited about "kick and run" I can see why you like Cisse.
Cisse is great coming on for the last 30 minutes and running at a tired defense.....

...then trying to score 'through' the keeper. :)

He is getting a lot better under Rafa though

I'm a very staunch supporter of Cisse, whether he impresses other LFC fans or not I always have faith in this guy and no matter what he does, he never really disapoints me.

He is a better prospect for the future in any case, how long can Morientes really go on? He's 30 if I'm correct and he has been pretty inconsistent. Not to say that there aren't things Cisse can improve on. I guess now the best thing to do is to keep rotating them because I doubt Rafa will find a consistent pairing that will always consistently score.

As for the Man Utd game, I say go for pace and that means Cisse. If Vidic starts the Premiership pace can get the better of him on his debut.

Defensive aren't you? :)

Cisse has wonderful prospects for the future. I like the guy and his flair (bad hair and all) If you're calling Nando inconsistent then how would you describe Cisse? (Someday he'll learn to put the ball somewhere inside the 8x24 foot posted area without hitting the keeper :))
Like you say "nobody lasts forever" but we were talking of tomorrow's match. Cisse's legs will be a real asset in the last 30 minutes

I think Cisse is getting the message that he is not the main man, as he was at Auxerre, but part of a team which includes other talented individuals. He'll get there-- he is young, after all. Nando, however, has a better footballing brain and all round play. Having said that, they could, in fact, start together with Crouch on the bench, no?

Like I said, Cisse has things to improve on, thats for sure. You're right, he is not the main man, but neither is Crouch or Morientes really.

Cisse has more stamina than Morientes also. His pace for a full 90 will trouble Man Utd. for sure.

This is kinda what I'm thinking, as well.

Ditto. Plus, I am surprised that Nando doesnt get more grief from fans. I just dont think he's adapted enough, and other than a few occassions or touches, he really hasnt impressed my too much.

But again, considering the fact that our strikers are not on fire, and we are still essentially second, imagine what a testament that is to the team's skill, the defense and most importanly, Rafa the Gaffa'.

Personally i m dissapointed cisse does not get the minute he desreves. He was our most expensive signing if i aint wrong. The lad broke his leg came back well before the doctors expected it shows he is very determined and willing to play for liverpool.Rafa should start him i feel a hat trick from cisse will be great against manure. He is a fantastic player so is morientes i want goals and rafa will find the striking solution soon.

I really dont understand some supporters love affair from Cisse. Morientes is not only a much better player, but he fits into Benitez's system better and he always gives 100%. Morientes is overall a much more polished player than Cisse. Cisse is one for the future to be sure though. He just needs a while to firm up his touch and learn how to play with a little more guile. He has improved vastly since the beginning of the season.

Raffa himself would be better up front than Cisse.

Ok im tired of holding back. Cisse is ********ing useless. He isnt good enough for Liverpool, I dont care how fast he is.

As of today I'd take two bob for all our "strikers" for a clearance sale.

Let me list Liverpool's strikers since 2000:
1/ Fowler
2/ Owen

That may be true, but if so, what does that say about Crouch and Morientes? Combined, they have one more goal than Cisse does, even if most of Cisse's came in non-EPL competitions.

I think all three of our primary strikers have some positive attributes, but none of them have played up to their potential this season. Something has to be done about our ability to score, though I'm at a loss as to what the solution is between now and the end of the season.

The midfield and defense both appear good enough to win titles, whether in the Premiership, Champions League, or elsewhere, and should remain so for several more seasons with the current roster. It's that pesky striker problem that's holding us back- I think we can all see that- but what to do?

anybody ever watched 'the match' on skyone, or any other charity matches?
well cisse is darren cambell (a sprinter who takes part in these games) when he gets it he knocks the ball up 20 yards and sprints. ie all he has is pace.
well this is exactly who cisse reminds me of. he is useless.

After breaking my leg and ankle on an ugly tackle shortly before Cisse's double break, i took a personal interest in his comeback and his return to glory in the final chapters of last season.

And i have clamored for him to get more starts because Morientes has not impressed me and Crouch seems to be knocking balls down for invisible people because the help is usually too slow to arrive.

Right now, I don't know much of anything. I think starts will certainly help him find better form, but can we afford to put a flaky, rusty, and inconsistent striker on the pitch at this juncture?

Then again, he's the only potential scoring "menace" that we have. maybe we should feed him starts until he hits his form.

******** me. . i am lost. That was shambolic yesterday. . and i am not even harping on the open-netter. . just all around shambolic.
