Incorrect. The Caribbean Qualifiers will be played in March, so at the end of this month the UNCAF qualifiers will be over.
When the draw will happen I'm guessing sometime between April & May once both UNCAF & CFU qualifiers are finished. Because the Confederations Cup is in June & the Gold Cup will be in July.
The question now is will their be a home "n" home between the 4th place teams in the representitive competitions like the last one. I enjoyed it seeing 10 of the 12 Teams that are from our Confederation. I hope it stays that way.

Didn't we just have CONCACAF Gold Cup last year? Is there no pattern in how often they hold the tournament. It makes it a joke. They should make it every 4 years or at least every 2.

Actually, this is a move BACK to its original pattern (1991, 1993...)! The plan is to have it every odd year in the summer to assure that the best players can make it.

It was meant more to avoid conflicts with otehr big tournaments, thus increasing the possibility that it would recive international attention.

Latest rumours from Canadian sources indicate that two groups will be in Miami, two in Boston, but the semi-final, 3rd place & final matches will be held in Washington.

That's got to be one of the stupidest things I've EVER heard of...
I'm ready to start a "CONCACAF conspiracy to keep Canadian fans from going to Gold Cup games" thread...

I wonder if any of these matches will be MLS doubleheaders.

We already are permanent guests.

I didn't mention the part about Canada being in Miami, but I take it you already about that from before. But I guess its the "no Boston" part of it that would annoy people from Quebec, and I don't blame you.
The Canadian team isn't exactly thrilled about the prospect either, but there's not much they can do.

Yeah, it's like "Let's put them in Miami and the semis and final in Boston!" and someone goes "No! Wait, if they make it to the semis again, some Canadians might actually get to see their team live... I know! let's put THOSE games in DC!". "That's some good thinking Bob.... stupid Canucks thought they could see their team without flying to Tripoli.... what fools!".
And I KNOW you went to Miami, GL, but you know...

Is there a link to the Maple Leafs coming to Miami? If so then let's have it. If not then let's wait and see.
To Rafael Hernandez. May Mexico lose in the Copa America to any South American team.

Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
US blew it by not going in turning them down once. You have the FMF to thank for opening the door. I thought it was real stupid on the USSF's behalf to put more emphasis and priority on the league play (MLS) than the national team. Truth is, the national team is what makes you or breaks you from a financial standpoint. If the US did well, they could get more investors which will eventually funnel down onto the MLS.

I can't provide an internet link, as it was reported on Canadian television, quoting sources from the Canadian Soccer Association. Miami is what they've been told. The Canadian team is expecting to be (and I quote) "sweating their asses off" at the Gold Cup this summer.

Honduras still has a chance to qualify via the Caribbean. They play Haiti and Cuba, with the winner advancing to the Gold Cup.

Does anyone know when they're going to release the schedule for the Gold Cup games? I live near DC and have heard RFK will be getting several games. Thanks!

How could you be so sure they (Honduras) would play Haiti or Cuba, the Caribbean games starts in March.
Jamaica, Martinique, St Lucia and Haiti - Group A.
Trinidad & Tobago, Cuba, Guadeloupe and Antigua & Barbuda - Group B.
It is expected that the winners of the each group will automatically go through to the Gold Cup finals in the United States but according to CFU General Secretary Harold Taylor, a decision will be made at an executive committee meeting later this month as to how many teams will advance.

ONCE AGAIN, the official reason is that the US, Canada and Mexico qualify as former champions.
The real reason is that it would be a playoff between Canada and Mexico and then they would need to have that loser play the loser of the Caribbean playoff or something (or have another mini-tourny like in 1999).
Much more difficult to organise for so little more.
