Sorry for the pseudo-intellectual quote but I feel that it might play into Germany '06. With the Eriksson incident (calling Rooney "poor," Ferdinand "lazy," and making it clear he only coaches for money) I now see very clearly why USA did so well last time. They have a coach who cares and knows about the team. He announced they would train in the same facilites because he knows the importance of it.
I guess my point is, it's sad to sad a crop of talent like England's get sabataged by someone who only cares about winning money. The truly disgusting part is the FA don't care, in fact they'll give him a pay rise for the publicity.

I think Eriksson will do everything he can to get the best result for England. The only disgusting part and influence I can see comes from the English newspapers, as always.

Totally agree. And here's something people haven't really said much about... fact is, nothing Sven said was inaccurate. The truth hurts, maybe it'll wake people up to reality?
ON RIO FERDINAND: "He is lazy sometimes."
Clearly.
ON WAYNE ROONEY: "It is his temper....he's come from a poor family. His father was a boxer....he could have been a boxer as well."
Yup.
ON MICHAEL OWEN AT NEWCASTLE: "I talked to Michael Owen and said 'you are happy?' He said 'not really with the club, but economically I never earned that money in my life'. So they paid the salary more than Real Madrid did. He said 'they gave me a house, they gave me a car, it's incredible'. They had to do it because in any other way he wouldn't have gone there."
Sounds about right to me...
ON ASTON VILLA: "The chairman (Doug Ellis) is an old man. He's sick."
Ayup.

England will have some troubles finding a decent English coach that want's the job. I have a feeling there will be another foreign coach for england.
Wigan boss Paul Jewell admits he would have little interest in managing his country should England come calling in the foreseeable future.
''To me it's not a job that turns me on. I like day-to-day involvement with players so much.
''The nonsense that goes with the job I think I'd find hard to deal with. I'm not just straight batting it.

Maybe the FA should institute a 'puppet' managerial system for the mens senior team. :) Like, have one figurehead that supposedly does all the managing, and gets all of the media attention and such. While another guy (Carlos Queroz ;) ) does most of the actual coaching away from the spotlight.

Newcastle's problems summed up right there.
