Ole has shown what we have missed out wide... how I pray he gets back to 100% of his fitness..
He does everything right for the team and his fellow player damn, how I've missed his intelligence!
This is the same guy who effectively sealed one of the best crossers in the history of the games' demise from OT!! He plays the RM spot like it was his lifelong position!
Things will look so much brighter with Ole lining up week in week out!

Amen to that... I think if he stays fit, he'll be with the team and making a contribution for awhile yet. He doesn't rely on pace or strength at all... and he can make players around him smarter... the run he made to get on to Richardson's reverse pass was mind boggling. Why?? there were 2 players in a better position to make the same run, but he saw the space and exploited it. He's got sooo much composure... if he can pass that aspect of his game on to Ronaldo and Rooney it would be great... Ruud and Rossi already have it though.

What I had forgotten about Ole, is how correct a player he is. He makes the right pass or play nearly every time and he is a natural lethal goal scorer which means he is a threat if he cuts infield.
If he gets fit I would think RM is a lock as his position.

Bingo. In that thread where we talked about "footballing IQ", Ole was the first who came to mind for me. You almost never think, "why would he do that?" when he has the ball.

I said something similar in the match thread. Ole looks like he can do whatever he wants with the ball, but he only does what he needs to do in order to get the proper result. I'd love for Ronaldo to take a lesson in economy from Ole.

It's a shame Ole isn't fit for the Liverpool game :(

I prefer to see him in the middle where his intelligence is at its most lethal but, if he brings back to the team the recognition that that area between opposition corner flag and penalty box and precision crosses are an effective source of assists, then out right is ok by me.

Isn't he a year or two from retirement?

Shouldn't DB10 have retired a long time ago?

All good things have to end sometime.
I'm serious though, isnt OGS 31 or 32?
DB10 is an exception to when attacking players usually retire these days.

Born the 26th February 1973, which makes him 32. No-one knows the answer to your question, so why ask?

i think Ole had a very nice game against Burton. played the full 90 and whipped in some delightfull crosses. he could start against liverpool coz with park, scholes and C Ron out our old man doesn't really have a galaxy of players to choose from

This one turns 40 in April. Players' careers in almost every sport are being prolonged these days thanks to better medical treatment.

In addition, a players on-field intelligence makes up for their declining pace. Ole has that in spades.

From the official site:
Reserves boss Rene Meulensteen can see a vast improvement in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's game since the Norwegian striker began his return from a long-term knee injury.
Solskjaer turned in a sharp performance in the Reserves' 4-0 thumping of Birmingham last week, and Meulensteen is certain the fans' favourite is close to regaining his old sharpness.
The Dutch coach also revealed that Solskjaer will be allowed to regain his fitness in the Reserves for as long as he deems necessary.
"It's not only for me to decide, but for him as well," Rene told ManUtd.com. "As long as he's happy to play for us then we'll keep giving him games.
"The good Ole of old would have definitely scored one or two goals at Birmingham, but he's getting in the right positions. He's not far off though, I'm sure of that."

The Sun (mind the source, obviously) claims that Ole is being pegged to start the Carling Cup final. It would be a tough first major game back for him, but its not as if we don't need midfield help.
