I can't see Rosicky staying in Germany. Plus, Bayern have no use for him and they won't pay BVB's price for him. Besides, isn't the Paraguayan dude Bayern just signed tapped to be Ballack's replacement?

I doubt he is Ballack replacement, I am pretty sure we will get another midfielder in the summer.

It's just too big of a risk to put two un-proven players (Dos Santos,Karimi) in Ballacks role.

Looks like the deal for Pienaar is done.

http://www.uefa.com/footballeurope/news/Kind=2/newsId=386364.html

BV Borussia Dortmund have signed South African international Steven Pienaar from UEFA Champions League hopefuls AFC Ajax on a pre-contract arrangement. "I am really looking forward to joining Borussia and want to help them build a new and successful team capable of returning to continental football," the 23-year-old midfielder said.

Three-year contract through June 2009. He will join us this summer as a free transfer. So, I think this also puts any "Rosicky January Transfer" speculation to rest. I don't see a scenario with BVB selling Rosicky before now that Pienaar is signed.

I hope he works well with Sahin.

So Ajax has said that West Ham has been the only club to table a bid for De Jong. I guess BVB were looking at him when Rosicky was talking to Atl Madrid, but even if they aren't too interested it is a shame. De Jong is a nice talent and it sounds as if he'd be going relatively cheaply. So why not go in for him if Ajax are ready to sell?

Can there ever be a problem with TOO much quality on the team??

I believe Rosicky's status has absolutely nothing to do with the de Jong talks. I believe Pienaar is Rosicky's replacement.

No one is going to table a bid for de Jong because he's available on a free transfer (Out of contract) at the end of the season. Of course Ajax would love for others to table offers for him during this transfer period because they would get some money for him. The big clubs, unless they feel they need him RIGHT NOW, will not table an offer for him. They will just have a salary battle for him after the season or after the World Cup.

Ajax won't be able to sell him to West Ham because de Jong will surely refuse to sign a deal with West Ham. I think de Jong will want to go to the biggest club who will guarantee him playing time.

I used to think BVB didn't have a shot at de Jong and I'll only still believe it when I see it, but I now think we have a chance at de Jong because:

1) We've signed de Jong's good friend Pienaar.

2) We have a Dutch coach renowned for developing young talent for the next level. Yes, I feel there is a "level" above the Bundesliga and I feel the Premiership, Serie A, and La Liga are on that level.

and last, but certainly not least........

3) We have a team potentially capable of making noise in Europe next season and he would be just about guaranteed a spot in our starting lineup.

Therfore, I think any chance we have at changing that "shot" at de Jong into a "good shot" at de Jong will depend on where we finish in the Bundesliga table this season. :)

Agreed and that's why I wouldn't mind seeing a minimal fee offered for him now. I know that BVB's plan is to not shoot for Europe THIS year, rather go for all the marbles next year, but while we are in shooting distance why not? BVB is not a Premiership club, true, but I think that if in the Premiership they could be top 10. A spot where West Ham are NOW, but won't be for long.

Of course I don't balance the books at Dortmund so I don't know the true nature of Dortmund's finances (Dortmund 's money grows on trees right? hehe), but there will most certainly be a bidding war for such a class act like De Jong if he is let go at the end of the season. And you know that if clubs like Juve, Arsenal, Bayern, Barcelona, etc get involved the weekly wages for him will skyrocket. Why not nip in and spend a minimal amount to avoid all of that craziness and use him where needed for the remainder of this year while we groom the younger talents and figure him into our plans for the next year?

Just think it would be a good bit of business to lay down a few bucks now and start his integration into the team early. I will tell you this, though. Friends of Pienaar's or not, if a massive club with a massive wage bill budget come after him BVB will not have him on the books for the next campaign...

I hate it ... especially because the Bayern Fans who deserve NOTHING got an own Board .... either they get only a thread as well and only subboards for Nationalteam and general news or .... get a better Homepage Provider

This thread is going to get pretty cluttered with all of the stuff Dortmund have going on....Didn't see the problem with a Sub-Forum anyway...

What the hell...?!? Hope the BVB subforum is back online soon as I won't take part in a single hyper-stuffed thread like this. Until then...good bye.
