Err...of course I am! :D We'd be lucky to beat you guys next year with the way our squad is looking next year.
All I said is the "jury is still out on him (van der Gun)." I didn't knock on him at all.
Yes, but you wrote as if we said something that prompted you to remind us "the jury is still out on him". We freakin' know that! We just like what we see so far!
He's got 3 months and then offseason and the first 2 months of this season for me. Iono maybe it's because of Hertha's strikers, but we don't like giving our strikers time. :D
Maybe that's a problem you have......
We all know Smolarek is NOTHING like Adriano.
Ya got that right! :D

Wörns, Weide, Kehl allready have extended
Koller and Rosicky both wanted to go, that sux but its ok
Metze is linked to bremen
fact is we got Pienaar, Amedick and maybe Valdez
BTW Rosicky is the reason we have so many untrue fans (Success fans) .. therefor I hope that now he is gone those loosers are gone as well

I don't see anything that "sux" with Koller and Rosicky wanting to go. Rosicky wasn't giving us his best and had not for a long time. Again, you know I say we can thank Herr Sammer for that. Koller wants to make as much money as he can for his family because his career is almost over. Any man with a family to take care of understands that. He wasn't going to make that money in Dortmund. Plus, as the word said, Mrs. Koller didn't like Dortmund.
What can you do?
I don't know if you followed the list last week, but KC and I had a short discussion about Metze. I think Metze feelings are hurt that even when Brzenska started to suck, BvM stuck with Brzenska and did not show Metze that same type of loyalty.
If that is Metze's problem, then I don't blame him for wanting to leave. However, I hope he doesn't. I don't have any confidence in Markus Brzenska and we don't know anything about Amedick. Yeah, he could be good enough to replace Metze, he could suck or he could be somewhere in-between. We just don't know. At least we know what we have with Metze.
But, if Metze doesn't want to extend his contract, I won't blame the club one bit for selling him to Bremen...
fact is we got Pienaar, Amedick and maybe Valdez
From what I have seen of Pienaar, we will be happy with him. But, one can't guarantee he will play the same. You saw what I said about Amedick above and from what was written earlier this week, the Valdez deal is just about done.
As you saw in the kicker article you posted earlier in the week, we are supposedly interested in this Brazilian midfield Tinga. If he is what the article describes, I hope we get him. The only thing I would not like about it is that it would cut down Sahin's playing time.....
BTW Rosicky is the reason we have so many untrue fans (Success fans) .. therefor I hope that now he is gone those loosers are gone as well
That's f#cking bulls#it!!! The reasons we have so many bandwagon fans (what we call "success fans" in the USA) are the 1997 CL and the 2002 BL championships!!
I am sad to see Rosicky go, but it was the right thing to do for him and the club. Both will "win" from this sale to Arsenal.
That money will get us Valdez and if we can't get Frei, I hope we will go for Sanogo of FCK.......

Speaking of which, I keep searching for news on any of these possible deals through english media services yet find no recent updates. You seem to suggest that we might be close with Nelson Valdez, does that mean there might be announcements made before the start of the World Cup?

You won't find any of this news through the English news services because BVB isn't a big deal with them anymore. The news you will see from me, "HeyaBVB" and "jonam" are from the German sources.
The German reports and statements from Michael Zorc do mainly point to the Valdez deal being done before the World Cup.
We are awaiting a decision from our major creditors today on a deal and then we will close a deal with Morgan Stanley tomorrow for credit/loan.
If all of that goes well, BVB will be able to do a bit more in the transfer market.
If I did not get some of that right, I'm sure "jonam" will correct me! :)

No, absolutely right. Today the Molsiris deal will go through (buying back the other half of the stadium) and within a couple of days Morgan Stanley will give us a credit worth about 60 Mio Euro. When those deals are struck we def know how much money we can spend. Then the Valdez deal won't take too long, I guess.

We were almost bankrupt two seasons ago. Yes, the Westfalenstadion has the largest capacity in German Football.
We had to sell the stadium to avoid bankruptcy. We are exercising our right to buy it back, which will save us millions in rental payments.
The Morgan Stanley loan will give us more time to get back on our feet.
We just need to make UEFA competition sooner rather than later. I think we are on the right track.......

I saw a story in today's kicker, but I haven't sat and read it yet.
If things go our way in the next two days, we should be looking good.....

Yep. Very true. We have Valdez now! Don't have a price, but I'll bet it was around 3.5M-4M.
I did a translation for the official site. I don't think KC has posted it yet though.
I guess they will continue working on Frei now. However, I wouldn't waste time with that. Again, I'd make FCK an offer for Sanogo. He's the kind of guy we need to replace Koller.
I consider Valdez an "improvement", not a "replacement" for anyone.

Great to see that the deal has gone through, especially with the World Cup so close to starting. While it would have perhaps been unlikely, all it ever takes is a couple of goals from a player during the tournament and suddenly their transfer value seem to rapidly increase. Just as I'm sure Arsenal were happy to secure Rosicky in the same manner, I'm pleased we've been able to wrap this up so soon.

i agree that it's ridiculous how much a few good performances can improve a player's market value. a headed goal from a corner kick for a defender seems to be the most dramatic supplement. strikers who bag a goal or two often tend to draw a lot of interest as well.

i've been a bit of one for a while now. i was ready to jump off the bandwagon with Rosicky leaving (he's my favorite player by far), as pitiful as that may sound. but the signing of Valdez is nice. you're still my favorite side in Germany for sure. i like your jerseys, fans, and generally the quality of play. Bayern seems to be a little sharper with the Paraguayan recruiting but i'm not super attached to Paraguay anyway. to be honest i'm more of a USA fan. i just lived there for a while during my folks' service in the Peace Corps. i'll be a regular around these boards, though, methinks.

Cool! The more fans we have around here the better! We've got a BVB e-mail list at Yahoogroups too if you're interested in that. We're actually an official BVB fan club too.

looks like bvb does not really know how to do business. I mean when Rosicky was worth so high even Inter Milan were after him, they didn't sell him. Now only sell him to Arsenal for that amount of money which is definitely not good. I think Rosicky is extremely good also he is very young, but don't know why he want to leave. Also, Metzelder was worth a lot of money back then even Real Madrid was after him, but they didn't sell him. Now Metzelder isn't worth much and they are selling him? OMG, this suck. o, anyone know what happen to Metzelder's younger brother? I didn't hear any news about him for long time. Maybe dortmund can promote him to play alongside with his brother.

selling players when they're not as valuable to the club isn't a bad idea. Arsenal will certainly wait until Thierry's transfer price isn't so steep to offload him.
