AFAIK Bayern want to extend with Pizzaro till 2010 (current contract till 2007). Maybe if he doesn't want to sign a new contract with Bayern they want to get rid of him and so cash in at least some millions.

Still I can't believe they would do that.

Like I said, just fan discussion.......

I just hope that if Bayern get Poldolski, they get rid of either Santa Cruz or Pizzaro. It would really suck for the German national team if one of the true German phenoms has to spend tons of time on the bench.

As for Dortmund, if they wanted either, it should be Pizzaro. I've never been impressed with Santa Cruz. Santa Cruz has some skill, but he just seems like a wimp to me, and is invisible in most games.

They just extended with Santa Cruz, so I think they're keeping him.

Plus, there would be no danger of Podolski sitting behind Santa Cruz.

I think Santa Cruz is going to be their next Alexander Zickler. You know, the potential star who never lives up to his potential because instead of going out and moving to other places to play and improve his game, he chooses to sit on the Bayern bench and get paid handsomely for doing so.

I won't go that far on Santa Cruz, but I agree that Pizarro is the much better player.

News are that BVB is still working on the Frei deal and that Lovenkrands of Glasgow Rangers is another option. Zorc even did not rule out that two strikers might be sign. Adding to Pienaar another midfielder is on the agenda.

IMHO that sounds not too bad. Though I am still concerned that we might spend too much money on Frei. Maybe his injury helps dropping the price.

Hey Keith, after last night do you think some of these BVB folks might change their mind about Cory Gibbs?

News are that we agreed terms with Frei but that Rennes still ask for 7 Mio Euro. We are also in good talks with Valdez and somehow agreed terms with him also. Kicker suggest 3.5 Mio Euro if a deal can be done this summer. Valdez would not come instead of Frei but BVB want both players.

Valdez would be a transfer I would love to see. Contract till 2007, so Bremen will surely ask for some bucks.

Where are you getting that from dude? I know the Valdez talk is all speculation and I don't think he's going anywhere unless Bremen signs somewhere else.

And I don't think we can get both of them. Given a choice, I'd take Valdez. One major reason. BUNDESLIGA experience........

Bremen have Zidan loaned to Mainz and they want him back for next season. Then they have still Aaron Hunt on their roster.

Source for the mentioned transfer fees is kicker:

"...Beide stehen bei ihren Klubs noch bis 2007 unter Vertrag, beide kosten: Frei rund sieben Millionen Euro, Valdez drei bis vier...."

Yes, but besides the mention of Zidan, the rest is still nothing but speculation.

I'll think more of it when Watzke and Allofs start talking.

And I'm still of the thinking that we don't need Frei.

There are others who can do the job who are a hell of a lot cheaper.

Including Valdez, who had the hat-trick today against Hannover.......

Jiri Jarosik?

Borussia Dortmund are keeping an eye on Birmingham's on-loan midfielder Jiri Jarosik.

He is now being lined up by Dortmund to replace playmaker Tomas Rosicky, who is expected to leave the club in the summer.

"Up until now, we are just watching him (Jarosik)," director of football Michael Zorc told Kicker magazine.

"We have not opened any negotiations."

Eh... decent player, nothing spectacular, and not as good as Rosicky for sure. Assuming Birmingham go down, one of the promoted English teams might buy him outright. But BVB could get him for cheap as well.

We don't need spectacular. We need someone who is a danger and who can create some danger. And from what I've seen of him, Jarosik fits that bill.

Guys, get over Rosicky. He is history after this season. I'm surprised he stayed this long. He is not staying with BVB. You can wish all you like, he's gone. Deal with it.

Let's enjoy him for the rest of this season and thank him when he moves on.

I'll continue to cheer for him wherever he goes. He's just not going to stay with us anymore.

Oh I'm sure Rosicky is gone, I don't think anyone seriously thinks he's staying. Jarosik certainly wouldn't be the worst replacement, though its hard to gauge him based on his play with Birmingham. He was a little better at Chelsea, so it might work out if the price was right.

Well despite my initial scepticism it seems the stories linking us with Nelson Valdez had legs after all. Now that some more reputable sources than Bild have come on board, I think I'm more inclined to believe it. To be honest, with Rosicky leaving I really don't mind spending the €3.5million or so that's been quoted, and if the comments attributed to him are true he seems reasonably keen to come. Hopefully the club can announce something in the next few weeks.

Only if they give us more than what we paid for him. From what I saw at the match yesterday, I'd sell Amoah and keep Buckley.

I thought Amoah was complete s*it yesterday. No better than Buckley.

You really think so?

I actually think, given the amount of playing time at Birmingham, he is much better with them than he was at Chelski where he barely got any starts.

He stepped up with Birmingham, a move to them was what he needed to prove his abilities and a move to Dortmund might work out even better.
